I just "discovered" the existence of ESR, as 78.15 on my wife's beloved 2009 Mac OS 10.11. Our newer Mac is ok with OS 12.6 and Firefox 110, auto updating. We dislike relentless whiz-bang changes, and need just email, simple games, and basic browsing on the older Mac; email, moderate browsing, flight simulation, and some streaming on the newer. In plain English, please, what are pro and con of switching it to ESR?

ESR is short for Extended Support Release and is more for Enterprise users in mind as they need stability. It may not get all of the security fixes as the Releases do at same time if there are stability concerns.

The current ESR is Fx 102.9 (last planned update will be 102.15.0 esr) and the next version ESR will be based on will be Fx 115.0 due to be released July 4 and Fx 102.13esr will be out then also.
