Ever since I updated to FF31, it's been popping up suggestions for using Keyboard shortcuts. First few times were worth noting, next amusing... after several dozens every time I do something that has a short-cut it goes beyond annoying. If it wouldn't disappear after few moments or need to be clicked away, I'd moved right back to previous version.

So, how do I get rid of this function? I thought for a time that removing the Press Me! button from Toolbar would do the trick, but it started again and shows no signs of stopping. KK

What shortcut keys is this about?

Can you attach a screenshot?

  • Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
  • Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB

If this happens when you click a button to copy or paste text in a text area (editor) then you will have to use keyboard shortcuts. Use keyboard shortcuts if the buttons on the web page or other methods aren't working.

  • Copy: Ctrl+C or Ctrl+Insert (Mac: Command + C)
  • Paste: Ctrl+V or Shift+Insert (Mac: Command + V)
  • Cut: Ctrl+X or Shift+Delete (Mac: Command + X)

Seems to happen only on my other computer, which uses vista.

It happens with Bookmarks, specifically when removing them (I tend to mark quite a few for later closer look and then remove them) and when logging in to sites. There are some other times, but those pop up most often.

This is because you have the Test Pilot Add-on installed on your computer, and Mozilla is launching an experiment around how people use their browsers, and how useful in-product tips are. Feel free to uninstall the add-on

I really, really hope that they are smart enough to not to make this one official...

That's why it's an experiment. We are trying different things and seeing what users feel. None of these are permanent changes, and not even every experiment is something we are going to implement, but all of them help us understand our users .IF you don't want to help then feel free to uninstall test pilot

It's annoying and repeating enough that I removed the test pilot...

After a bit more testing (last one was posted as the last thing before going to bed), I can say that didn't help. Shortcut suggestions keep still popping up.

The suggestions disappears from the first click of mouse or anything else aside moving the mouse around, so unfortunately I can't do that.

also make sure to disable/remove the Contextual Feature Recommender extension in case you have it present in the addons manager.
