How is it possible that Firefox 3.6.28 has smart searching features and the latest version doesnt?

I have noticed that when I am on Firefox 3.6.28, trying to search for some stuff it doesn't search but sometimes directly opens the most suitable result. This is amazing and really quick. Why this feature is not included in the latest version. Thanks

When typing words into the address bar, Firefox will search using whatever engine is selected in the search bar. You can install either a "Browse By Name" or an "I'm Feeling Lucky" search engine.

If you want separate search engines in the address bar and search bar, install the Keyword Search add-on.

The reasoning was that "Browse By Name" and "I'm Feeling Lucky" are far from perfect. Rather than risk sending users to sites that aren't what they were looking for, it was decided that always displaying the search results was a better option.
