I create a new address book in Thunderbird. I add several email addresses to that book. I close Thunderbird at the end of the day. When I open Thunderbird the next day, the new address book has disappeared. Any idea what I am doing wrong, missing?

When I try to add a new contact the box is 3/4 off the screen to the right. there is a opaque square where the box should be, Ive tried the alt/space/m/arrow thing but that's not working, also tried every suggestion from chatgpt, nothing working, reinstalled with No change Win10

My Address Book appears to be old and out of date. There's at least 10 years of emails in there somewhere. Random old emails are there, but what's visibile is not really useful here and now. How can I restore at least some degree of usefulness?

It's possible to drag/drop contacts from To to CC or BCC.

It should be possible to do so across messages open in separate windows.

But when I try it, it fails.

I am computer literate, but please remember that literacy is a 4th grade degree of knowledge so please be gentle with me. I have installed Thnderbird on a new computer but cannot import the address book from my old computer. Please help. Thank you.

An address book that I was using for years suddenly stopped working. It was called 'nachbarn'. I had to rename it to 'nachbarn@here', and it worked again. This is on Linux, and a week ago I have been using this list with its old name. But in betwen I changed my account from POP3 to IMAP, which may have contributed. Since there are plenty of complaints on the Internet, I'd suggest to change the plausi check for the address field, so that the address must either contain an '@' or be the name of a list or address book?

a power shortage messed up my computer and i had to re-install thunderbird. now when i type in the initial letters of an address that is in my address book, thunderbird no longer completes the address.

I setup an address book for a club so I can send BCC emails but it won't use the club address book! I had one in my old computer. So I try to send an email, click BCC and start typing the club name and it doesn't appear! In my previous computer it would find the club address book and insert it in the BCC line! This new one doesn't do that!

I have Firebird Beta installed. I also have Outlook 2019 but after an update the address book is not visible. I have located the pst file(s) but don't know how to import the email address book from Outlook to Firebird Beta. Can you help?

I have an address book setup with a number of what I'll call sub books for want of a better name. I used to be able to copy a contact from the address book to a sub book. I have either forgotten how to do that or something may have changed. I tried to drag & drop the address from the main book to the sub book but that doesn't work any longer. What am I missing here?

Somewhere along the line, I lost all the entries in my Thunderbird address book. I tried to import from Outlook to repopulate it. This turned into a disaster.

When I get to the point where I can select the field, the destination they are mapped to make no sense whatsoever. For example, the Middle Name maps to the Last Name field. OK. Bad guess. But then all the drop down shows as options is Last Name. I cannot map it to middle name. The address book drop down only allows you to select what it is already set to.

Company Yomi (whatever that is) is mapped to Notes. At the end of the list, the source field Notes is shown and no destination mapping is available at all, so what happens if I select it.

Needed to edit an address. 2 problems: 1. somehow part of the address appears in the drop-down = home/work/mobile. How do I delete it? 2. edits are not saved (yes I have clicked save). Permissions all seem good.

Address sidebar CONTENTS disappears after turning on to forward or send a message, The sidebar is still there but empty of addresses, which do appear for about a second on opening the forward message tab.

Thunderbird is displaying the wrong name in the from or correspondents columns in some of my emails. The displayed names that are wrong are from other emails received. For example, one email in the from column is displaying Nancy, but the email is from Grainger with a different email address. I have received emails from Nancy but she is not affiliated with Grainger. This issue is happening with many, but not all, emails. A name displayed in the from column that has nothing to do with who sent the email.

Edit address book entry displays only DELETE and CANCEL at the bottom of the edited entry. The rightmost border may be obscured as the display does not allow for scroll.
