To open a link of a website in the background tab is CTRL+click, why is it that to open a bookmark of the bookmark toolbar in the background tab is CTRL+shift+click. It is confusing! A bookmark is a link! For comparison, both of them are CTRL + click in chromium. BTW, there is no explanation in advanced configuration preferences.

Hi,

I’m experiencing an issue with notifications in latest version of Firefox on macOS. Notifications work correctly when delivered, but after a few days, clicking on the notification does not work properly – it doesn’t open a new window or close the notifications center. I have confirmed this behavior on two different websites.

Additionally, the same websites and notifications work correctly in Chrome, regardless of the time of delivery.

Is this expected behavior, or could it be a bug in the service worker code or the browser itself? How can I investigate and resolve this issue?

Thank you for your help!

I frequently have a tab open into settings at cookies. When ever i go to a site that really wants to put cookies on my system I say yes. Then I open the tab to settings and deleted them. It's occurred to me (a retired programmer ) that it would be just as easy for firefox to write all cookies to a Null File, Then I wouldn't have to answer yes. I could just accept all cookies etc and get rid of them at the same time.

ONE EXAMPLE - This morning I wanted to sign into my Navy Federal Credit Union account. I got the following error message:

You don't have permission to access "http://signon.navyfederal.org/siteminderagent/forms/mfa.fcc" on this server.

Reference #18.7efdd17.1710862426.19b449b3

I called the Credit Union. NO PROBLEMS at their end. I was asked which browser. I was told that Firefox is frequently the problem! I changed to Google Chrome and had NO trouble signing in.

I have had this problem previously with a few other websites.

ANY WAY for ME to fix the problem since I FAR prefer Firefox?

Thanks,Arthur

The update to version 123.0 seems to have an issue. When I open a private browsing window, the bookmarks bar does not show. A fix would be great. Thanks so much

I'm using Kubuntu which uses the Dolphin file manager as default. When I download a file and use the download status icon at top right to check on a downloaded file "Show in folder" it comes up in Thunar.

A minor thing and it is not stopping me from doing the intended action, but the change throws me even so given I rarely use Thunar. I'm not sure it even gets installed with Kubuntu, but it has some special tools Dolphin does not have so I put it on my machine.

Any way to make Firefox show the location of the downloaded file using Dolphin? Didn't find anything where I looked using about:config

When using Netflix in full screen there is a slim transparent bar which shows my desktop at the top of the frame. It was not here a few days ago, i might have updated since then. It does not appear in YouTube full screen but i have not tried any other websites to see if it's there. Restarting my system and Firefox did not resolve the issue. Is there any way to fix this, or do i have too wait for a bug fix/the problem to be identified?

I have a 1 Gbps line from Comcast. I have a new HP desktop PC, 32 GB Ram. Speed tests from several test sites confirm good line speed. When I sign in to my email provider using Firefox, the circle on the screen goes round and round for up to 20 seconds. Not so with MS Edge. When I select an image to view using Firefox, I can watch the screen being painted. Not so with MS Edge. I have had slow responses from several other websites. Comcast has come out to my house twice to verify line speed. No problems found. Firefox appears to be the bottleneck at this point. Please help.

Thanks..........Bob

I have been using Firefox as my browser for years. I like its privacy features.

Problem. Often, when I click on a URL to a secure site, as the page is loading, Firefox freezes. That tab & any other tabs that are open are frozen. If I click on them, nothing happens. Even after waiting for 2 minutes, the browser does not correct itself, or come back. I have to use Cntrl Alt Del to “close” Firefox. Eventually, the “Restart Firefox” dialog box appears. I have to wait for Firefox to stop running before the restart takes effect, & Firefox comes back. This happens with 3 or 4 secure sites that I visit, including Discover.com. Firefox also occasionally freezes while I am on a secure site, when I go from one page to another.

Is this a fault of the Firefox browser? Is there something I can or should do when I click on a secure link? Any suggestions would be appreciated. H. Meier.

Firefox updated last night (March 2, sometime in the evening). When I finally was able to reopen it, it had gone back to a much older saved bunch of tabs. I had a very crazy day, and had multiple tabs open when I left, that I meant to go back to and finish up with, now they are gone and I can't remember them all. There were also tabs that I know I closed quite a while ago, so it really went back in time. Is there any way to get those tabs from yesterday back? They are not in History under "recently closed," I suppose because Firefox went back to a MUCH older set of things, so it doesn't "remember" them as "closed," because it doesn't "remember" them at all?

I had to Restart/Refresh Firefox because I lost my dropdown menus and then the Google Search bar in the right-hand corner disappeared. Somehow I got it to reappear but it's too small. I followed steps in several different posts and can't get Google Search Bar to widen. 1. I placed the mouse pointer between the search bar and the address bar and nothing happened. 2. The following didn't work for me because I can't find the “Use Small Icons” box: "Click the “View” tab on the program menu and choose “Toolbars.” Select “Customize” from the fly-out menu and a “Customize” toolbar screen loads. Deselect the “Use Small Icons” box and click “Done” to enlarge the icons on the Firefox toolbar." I attached a screenshot of what FF Browser looks like.
