When I start typing URL's in Firefox, it will only ever suggest the URL so far as the top level domain. For instance, I frequently visit trakt.tv/dashboard. But when I type "tr" into the URL bar, Firefox only ever suggests trakt.tv - I have to manually press the forward arrow key and type in "/d" in order for it to autofill the rest. It doesn't matter how many time I type the full URL in or even the fact that I've deleted all history only visited trakt.tv/dashboard, Firefox will still only autofill trakt.tv

Is there some about:config setting I can change to make Firefox recognize and prioritize specific frequently visited URL's over just top level domains?

I see no way of doing this. You'd think there would be an ADD option somewhere in the search engine page. Instead it takes me to the Add-Ons page. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-CA/firefox/extensions/category/search-tools/ What has this got to do with adding a search engine to the browser? Must be a mistake.

When FF on my Windows 10 machine crashed FF asked if I wanted to refresh FF. I said yes, and FF reopened as usual with all my tabs. After I closed and reopened FF the next time, it reopened without any of my tabs. I then discovered that FF had unchecked the “Startup Open previous windows and tabs” box, which I had previously religiously monitored to be sure it was checked. So I lost all my previous tabs.

In my sessionstore-backups folder I found the file upgrade.jsonlz4-20 as last in a list of three more recent file names. I then dropped the file upgrade.jsonlz4-20 in the scrounger tool on this site: https://www.jeffersonscher.com/ffu/scrounger.html. It expanded in the big window, and when I clicked on Save uncompressed JSON as text, I see all the URLs run together in a text file.

How can I use this information to recover my tabs, please? If so, how? Or is there a better way to use the Scrounger – or another – tool?

Otherwise if I delete the three more recent file names in the list above the upgrade.jsonlz4-20 file, and restart FF will I recover the missing tabs? If so would I the check or uncheck the Startup Open previous windows and tabs box?

Lastly, can I restore my missing tabs using Windows’ “System restore” tool from 3 days before the crash?

So I wanted to join Rally, but I am concerned about granting access to my passwords and logins to the Rally clients. If I create a new profile and sign in with my only Firefox account will Rally clients have access to my passwords and logins from other profiles?

My system disk failed, so I had to restore it from pretty old backup, with old Firefox version installed and old profile data. Now I want to start Firefox and reopen all my recent tabs from Firefox Sync, but not from my local (old) profile. How should I proceed?

When I try to load random web pages on some well known websites, some load, and then turn blank.

This happens at random, it seems. Most of my browsing seems to work fine.

Reloading doesn't help.

I decided to make a fresh windows install, and when i installed firefox as allways i logged in.

Normally when i have logged in on a fresh installation of firefox it startes with the sync and getting all my old booksmarks, add-ons, passwords etc. but this time i didn't.

I thought that was weird but didn't pay mind to it, i thought i might have needed some time to sync. After 4 hours nothing has happended yet.

things i have tried:

• Pressing Sync now under my profile
• Pressing sync now under settings
• Going to help - more techinical information - Databasen Places - Confirm integrety

Dear Sir/Madam I have recently started purchased an Oculus Quest 2 VR headset. In order to purchase apps and games for my headset I want to use my PC so I can peruse the software available in the Oculus Quest store However when using the Firefox browser I find that when I link to the Oculus store I end up with a constantly rotating wheel and cannot access the apps/gamessection of the store (Now known as METAQUEST) However when I use the MICROSOFT EDGE browser the Oculus website works perfectly This disappointing as I much prefer to use FIREFOX Could you advise if there is a setting within Firefox which may help or could you comment on why Microsoft Edge works but Firefox does'nt Thank you Regards and best wishes Edward

Hi So I had an old PC which somone wanted to use, I forgot that I was logged in on the fireforx browser so I deleted all the cookies, browser history and saved password, however forgot it was on my account so when I started using my PC today...passwords where not showing up and realised I deted them all and its now synced acoss all my devices...

Can I restore all the password?

This is for https://outlook.live.com where I cannot access my full list of folders. I am using Firefox on Linux (in Fedora 34) and my scrolling feature hasn't been working for a few days now. When I search for an email in one of the inaccessible folders, the folder does appear.

As an idea... I added https://outlook.live.com to the pop-up exemptions, no luck.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

When opening History the column headers are there but no dates are shown in the Added and Last Modified columns. These columns are selected in Views and the listed web pages appear to be correctly sorted into Added date order. My browser is up to date an is 100.0.2 64 bit. Thanks

Every time I turn on my computer Firefox wont open until I open Chrome at leats once, after I open Chrone I have no problem I can close it and continue to work in Firefox, but it is still a weird problem, I have also uninstall and reinstall Firefox several times but it doesnt fix the problem.

Hi, As it is, Firefox remember the primary password as long as the software is open and the computer not shut down. This is a very serious security risk! Firefox should forget the primary password after a certain period of time, even when running continuously. At least Firefox should forget the password after the session is suspended or locked. Recently some programs, such as Word, are opening behind the browser window, so the only way I can access them is by shrinking and moving the browser. I also find that when a program does open in front of the browser, (as did Excel just now, I am unable to pull the browser window back to the fore without shrinking or closing the app window - ie closing excel - as I did just now. I have tested this in Chrome and Edge, and they seem to behave just fine, so the problem would appear to be with Firefox settings, but I can't locate a setting to tackle this.

I cannot install English GB dictionary for my spell checker. When I click add dictionaries it takes me to a page where I can select Englsih GB as one of the dictionaries available in my locale. It then takes me to the info and remove page for the dictionary but there is no option to install and no pop up to start the download appears.

When I connect to my home router via HTTPS I get a popup with the message “Invalid Encryption Key”. I tried using other installations of Firefox and I don't get this pop up. I then made a new Firefox profile on the same computer and did not get the popup. So it seemed like a Firefox "refresh" would be in order. But after the refresh the problem persists.

So how do I resolve this issue?

Firefox is the latest version running on a Mac.

i have re-install new windows and download fresh firefox and sign-in when i sync my account i didn't find any data (passwords , bookmarks , history , etc ... ) i found my firefox account as new

When I try to search or use Firefox it is extremely slow and I get an error. I used microsoft edge and do not have this issue. I am ready to stop using Firefox and got back to Microsoft Edge.
