For many years, I've used a utility called DropZone in my menubar, which (among other things) allows documents to be automatically sorted into user-created locations (e.g., folders in the Finder).

Last night, suddenly, each time I drag a photo from Firefox to DropZone, a large window called "Action Console" opens, displaying a bunch of text. Here's a typical message that's displayed:

[Launching task with command line: runner.rb task-26498]

Task description file task-26498:

ACTION: "/Applications/- Misc. apps/Dropzone 4.app/Contents/Actions/Move Files.dzbundle" EVENT: "dragged" VARIABLE: "support_folder" "/Users/mervynwarren/Library/Application Support/Dropzone" VARIABLE: "dragged_type" "files" VARIABLE: "app_version" "4.80.66" VARIABLE: "apple_silicon" "1" VARIABLE: "os_version" "26.0.0" VARIABLE: "path" "/Users/mervynwarren/Pictures/iTunes art" VARIABLE: "tmp_folder" "/var/folders/7l/ldzhrwyx1v1dy2tky3c1_y640000gn/T/"

Determinate: 1 Begin_Message: Moving files... /Applications/- Misc. apps/Dropzone 4.app/Contents/Actions/lib/filecopy.rb:13:in `do_copy': undefined method `each' for nil:NilClass (NoMethodError) from /Applications/- Misc. apps/Dropzone 4.app/Contents/Actions/Move Files.dzbundle/action.rb:27:in `dragged' from /Applications/- Misc. apps/Dropzone 4.app/Contents/Actions/lib/runner.rb:77:in `call' from /Applications/- Misc. apps/Dropzone 4.app/Contents/Actions/lib/runner.rb:77:in `<main>'

[Task completed]

Ironically, although the last line says "Task completed," the task I was attempting to perform (moving a photo into a given folder) is in fact NOT comleted at all.

Further observations:

This behavior is not displayed in Safari. In Safari, images continue to be moved to the desired folder, as intended.

I googled "action console keeps opening in Firefox," and I performed 4 troubleshooting steps that google AI suggested (including launching Firefox into troubleshooting mode). Unfortunately, in troubleshooting mode, the behavior persists, which suggests that this has nothing to do with any add-ons.

I also created a new, test profile—but even in the test profile, the behavior persists.

So, I'm stumped. After years of using Firefox, this behavior has appeared out of nowhere—and I cannot figure out why, nor how to fix it.

Any further suggestions?

I have a Firefox icon on my Windows11 desktop, Start, and one on the taskbar. If I click one either the Firefox icon on the desktop or Start I will get another icon on the task bar and I can do this over and over on my personal desktop getting many Firefox icons.

I just purchased a new Dell Windows11 desktop and have installed Firefox. I set it up just like my personal desktop and have icons on the desktop, Start, and taskbar but every time I click the Firefox desktop or Start icon I don't get a separate icon in the taskbar but they pile up behind the original Firefox on the taskbar. If the cursor hovers over the Firefox icon then I can see the multiple Firefox homepages that I generated.

I have searched for an answer to this problem but have been unsuccessful. I would really appreciate some thoughts on this issue. Firefox has been my one and only browser for many years and I love it 99% of the time, just not this one time. :-) Thank you in advance. Chuck Hall

Each day I get an email from Microsoft OneDrive with photos of the day, titled On this day"'. Clicking on a button titled "View all memories" on the email causes the photos from that day to appear as a new tab on Firefox. Perfect. Until a couple of weeks ago.

At that time, clicking on it caused the new tab to appear but no photos are displayed. The screen looks as if it's trying to load the pics, but nothing shows up. When I open up the OneDrive website directly, I can click on "Photos" and see ALL photos in my cloud account, and there is also a row at the top under the title "For You" which shows several clickable buttons titled "September <XXX>", "A new trip", "Revisiting <month XXX>", "Last week", etc. Clicking on each of those separately yields the same result as when I clicked on "View all memories" from the original email, which is that nothing is displayed but it appears to be trying.

Below the "For You" row is "All Photos" sections which has everything, but not organized like the "For You" row. It simply is the entire set of my pictures from which the "For You" buttons do their selection from.

I exchanged emails with the MS OneDrive support over several days, who made numerous suggestions, but none worked. We did determine, though, that the photos do appear seamlessly if I switch to Edge as the default browser, but I want Firefox as my default.

Because the photos did appear under a different browser, they suggested I contact Firefox, which I'm doing. And this is after I've tried all the suggestions contained in a google search I entered as: "firefox setting to allow microsoft onedrive photos of the day".

Understandably, I'm very frustrated and appreciate any suggestions anyone can provide. Thank you.

My Firefox browser just updated to version 143.0.1. When the browser reopened, there was an instructional page that opened in a new tab describing the Unload Tab function. I followed the instructions, right-clicked on the tab, the drop down menu appeared, but there wasn't an Unload Tab option. However, there was a Reload Tab option shown.

How do I resolve this? I'm using a macOS 15.6.1.

As has been mentioned many times before I am sure, it would be really helpful to be able to have a less laborious way to add exceptions but as I have been through the ridiculous process of typing in site addresses manually one by one without having any sensible way to record these addresses already I guess it won't help me now. The ridiculous aspect came from having to take screen shots of the list of sites from the manage data list after deleting everything not wanted, scrolling down a windows worth at a time, copying that screen shot into multiple copies of a graphics program then shrinking each copy of the graphics program and Firefox so each can be seen so I can manually type each address across.

I know I am supposed to be nice but this is just insane. It is 2025. There is a thing called copy and paste. Apparently some people at Mozilla are not aware of this.

Having got that off my chest the next issue is that the deletion of cookies and data only occurs when Firefox is closed. Who closes Firefox? Why would you close Firefox? I currently have 24 tabs open. Why on earth would I want to close them down just so they have to be selected one at a time and reloaded? What is the thinking behind this stupidity?

The only time I close Firefox down is when Windows is restarted for updates (every application) or when IDM needs to update as I found this negates the need to restart Windows (Firefox only).

Other than those situations I am trying to work out how to fit this cookies/data deletion into the normal operation of my computer. There appears to be a lack of a suitable way to deal with this situation. Would it be considered acceptable to just wait for those times Firefox has to be closed? This would be far better than what I have been doing up to now but why wouldn't Firefox delete this data when the last tab for a site is closed? There are a huge number of sites I bring up due to searching for something and close them immediately or after reading what they have to say.

I have been using computers for about 30 years and have long lost the inclination and to be honest the ability to delve deep into them. Today I just want to have them do what I want/need without unnecessary complications.

Have I got this situation right or is there something I have missed? At the moment IDM has been having a lot of updates thanks to YouTube's greed but before that I found I generally only had to restart my computer for MS updates and when strange things started to happen.

I have picked up some bug(s) on my Firefox that I cannot figure out how to get rid of. With a Firefox ID I have warnings of 3 Trojan Virus detected, Virus detected, hard drive infected, secure data notice and system alert. I also got a warning that my McAfee protection had expired which is very strange. Since switching over in 2010 from Windows to Linux I have never had protection of any kind and unlike Windows have never had a single problem. In addition when I was using Windows the protection that I had was never McAfee. I suspect that these warnings are not from Firefox given the misprints, spelling errors and the poor English. It is likely phishing from some third world country. How do I get rid of this obvious garbage permanently? Many thanks! Kris

Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome load it, so it's not an issue. Is this a Firefox feature? It's a hassle to disable the extension just to read the rest. Could you please give me some advice?
