Recently I activated 2FA on Firefox. I scanned the barcode by Google authenticator, to make it my code generator.

I'm now trying to enter Firefox on my laptop. After typing my password, when I try to enter one of the generated Google Authenticator codes, I constantly get a response "Invalid code".

I had to use one of the backup codes (out of the 8), and managed to enter my account on the laptop, but none of the logins and passwords were found there (it's empty).

My first question is why does Firefox reject the codes received from Google Authenticator (do I have to cancel my 2FA and define it once again? but I did everything by the book, with GA, and it seemed fine the other day).

My second question: I finally managed to enter my account with one of the eight backup code. Why are there no passwords etc? Aren't they automatically drawn from my usual (existing) account?

The laptop runs Win 10. I installed the 2FA on my main computer, which runs Win 11.

Thank you very much in advance, Eldad

Lost power. Computer shut down. Reopened Firefox and no passwords. Looked in profile and there are 4 files logins.json.corrupt (149 kb) all created today at same time and 1 file logins.json (2 kb). I ASSUME my passwords are in the 149KB json file? If I delete logins.json (2kb) and rename one of the 149KB to logins.json, when I reopen firefox, it just does it again: renames logins.json to logins.json.corrupt (149kb) and creates a new logins.json (2kb). Is there anyway to recover these passwords? Windows 7 Latest version of firefox

Thanx

Firefox seems to crash repeatedly and generates no crash reports, just freezes up my pc. It works in troubleshooting mode but even after refreshing, the problem persists. Surprisingly, it will consistently crash if I go to `about:support` (except in troubleshooting mode). Any help would be appreciated!

I have Firefox installed on two PCs. I see the option to add "Recommended by Pocket" under Settings/Home, but on the other one I don't. Screen shots of both are attached. I have completely uninstalled, cleaned up all Firefox files and re-installed Firefox multiple times on the PC where I don't see the Pocket option but nothing changes. Also gone into about:config and tried making changes from there. I want the Pocket recommendations to show on the Firefox Home page for both PCs.

Thanks

I don't know why the page https://encuestas.msssi.gob.es/limesurvey/index.php/438579?lang=es is marked as insecure in Firefox. I tried in Chrome, Edge, IE... and the page is marked as secure, the certificate is recognized.

I attach screen captures of Firefox and Edge examples.

I've the security.enterprise_roots.enabled setting enabled.

If I check for Firefox error details, I see (auto-translated to english): https://encuestas.msssi.gob.es/limesurvey/index.php/438579?lang=es The issuer of the other end's certificate is not recognized. Strict HTTP transport security: false Setting HTTP public keys: false

When you open a link from the sidebar while holding ctrl, firefox opens it in a new tab and switches to it immediately; whereas when you click a link from a webpage with ctrl, it does not switch to the new tab (unless you hold shift as well, or check "When you open a link, image or media in a new tab, switch to it immediately" in settings > general > tabs). I would like if firefox does not automatically switch to opened links from the sidebar (history, bookmark, etc.), when I open them with ctrl? (I know I can hold shift to do that, but I was wondering if there might be a preference in about:config to change the reverse this behaviour for sidebars)

Thanks, Ibr.

Hi Mozilla,

The File System API is already available to all Chromium-based browsers, and also on Safari Tech Preview version. It is essential to create web apps for users. As seen on Mozilla documentation, many features of the API are already there, but these are not: window.showDirectoryPicker window.showOpenFilePicker window.showSaveFilePicker'

Will the full API set be available soon?

Best regards,

Dan

I'm trying to use Microsoft Teams in Firefox because the native app for Linux is abandoned and crashes, and at first sight the app is blocking Firefox on purpose. Buttons to make calls are disabled, stating that audio and video are not supported in my browser, but everything works normally if join to existing calls using e.g. links.

Is it possible to trick Teams to think I'm using Chrome? I found the "User-Agent Switcher and Manager" add-on, but I can't figure out how to possibly use it.

Hi! I was wondering why nearly every single page these days opens to the message :

"400 Bad Request Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit. Apache Server at canvas.instructure.com Port 80"

Nearly every link I click on a website refuses to open! It has become impossible to do school work on this browser because I can't open any link on my school website, and nearly every website struggles to open except from google. I know the links work because I copy/paste them into Google Chrome and they open immediately. Truth be told I prefer Firefox and would much rather keep using this browser! I also can't find an update for Firefox so I believe my Browser is up to date (and I know my laptop is up to date and virus free). Is there a fix coming soon? Or a setting I can change to be able to open links? Classes start this week and I'm stuck!

Thanks for your help!

Past experience. With just a few tabs open there was a "+" button at the right hand end of the tab bar for a new tab. When the number of tabs got too many (in my case 18) the "+" button was JOINED by a ">" button to be able to see tabs off the right hand end of the toolbar, but still use the new tab button.

Post update to the current version of Firefox, at the point the ">" button appears it is REPLACING the "+" button.

I know there are workarounds, but my "rut" is to use the "+" to get a new tab.

Is there any way of getting it back?

I was trying to change some settings on Firefox and I accidentally closed it and lost all of my tabs. I have the setting enabled to open tabs from last browsing session, but I was messing with the extension OneTab and I lost my open tabs.

Just to be clear, it wasn't the fault of OneTab, this is was my fault for closing Firefox too quickly when it was restoring my tabs and I didn't allow it to finish.

Anyway, in attempting to recover my tabs, I have restored from backup my "sessionrestore-backups" folder; this didn't work. I have also restored my entire Mozilla folder in my profile; this also didn't work.

I also tried following this article (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-restore-browsing-session-backup), but the sessionstore.jsonlz4 file doesn't exist. I did a search for this file in my profile and it doesn't exist anywhere.

Does anyone have any ideas that may help?

Thanks in advance!

When writing reviews in Google Maps when you click post pictures from your computer (allowing one to browse your computer to find pictures to post) the tab crashes.

This occurs on other websites as well where one would browse the computer to attach documents, photos or videos. Heck, it even happens with this site (selecting browse to post picture causes firefox to crash).

This did not occur prior to updating to 115.0
