I really appreciate Firefox's built in translator; it is extremely helpful. However there is one thing that bugs me, when translating a page that has multiple language options. For example, when translating a page from German to English, the word "Deutsch" (often listed in the website's built in language settings) is translated not to "German", but to "English". While technically correct in that the page is now displaying English thanks to the Firefox translation, it would probably be better to show "German" so that it is easier to switch the website language and not have a duplicate "English" option in the website's dropdown menu. I have noticed this on multiple websites, specifically with German, but it might be with other languages as well. Hopefully this explanation of the issue makes sense, and see my attached screenshot which shows this issue. Please let me know if there is somewhere else I should submit this too.

My laser printer will not print due to low toner. However, when I click on "more information" to find out the toner level, that site is shown as unsecure and cannot be accessed.

I have a situation - which I had previously researched and resolved - that has come back to haunt me.

I use an ultra-widescreen monitor and searching/browsing obviously necessitates a center-screen search box which, up until now, Firefox has provided cleanly and with simplicity. However, I see that (once again) despite cursor placement in the center-screen box the search text is being entered in the address bar which is wholly impractical for me since I have to look about 60 degrees left and upwards to see what I am typing.

I say "again" because when this happened previously I was able to make a config change and resolve it but despite that still being in effect - the ".handoffToAwesomebar" is still set to FALSE - search text now has moved back to the address bar.

A brief search of this community yielded no answers. Is there any other known fix or has this now be thrust upon us permanently and thou shalt adapt?

How do I get the full url line of where I am currently on the homepage back for the search line, or the old full browser line? Have been looking in settings and haven't located it.

About ready to leave firefox over it, and been here for years.

Firefox 147.0.4 on macOS 26.3 does not work via SOCKS proxy.

Firefox 147.0.4 on Windows 11 x64 works fine via the same intranet SOCKS proxy, with exactly the same settings.

The advantage of Firefox is its flexibility. It supports its own SOCKS proxy settings, independent of systems-wide ones. Unfortunately, it seems this Firefox feature is broken on macOS (but Windows version works perfectly).

Safari 26.3 (21623.2.7.11.6) and DuckDuckGo 1.177.0 (625) web-browsers that use system-wide macOS SOCKS proxy settings also works fine with this intranet proxy server. So it seems SOCKS proxy server itself is OK, and the problem is confined to Firefox on macOS.

Has anyone seen Firefox 147 on macOS work via SOCKS proxy? Is there a principal difference between how Firefox handles SOCKS proxy on macOS vs. Windows? What might be the best way to address the problem on macOS?

Since updating Firefox from a previous version, the browser no longer displays any Unicode emoji characters. Where an emoji would normally be rendered (👁️), the browser instead displays empty space. Websites such as twitter and discord, which use their own artwork for emoji, are unaffected. This has negatively affected my browsing experience.

For illustrative purposes, I will add a series of emoji and include a screenshot of how they are displayed: (😀🙁😡💀). Other characters still display correctly: (β❖♞䷲⎈𐘢𓀺இ). My computer otherwise displays emoji correctly. The issue persists after disabling extensions, and has persisted between computer restarts.

I am using Firefox version 147.0.4 (aarch64) on a Macbook Air running macOS Sequoia 15.5.

My wife's old Windows 10 HP laptop quit working last week do to some Operating System failure while it was trying to do an update. It finally did a reboot and now it is useless, at least as it is! It will NOT complete the boot process after trying all of the options offered. All that I am able to is exit out of Windows to a "DOS prompt." I am able to get to the Mozilla Firefox folder and others contain within. The new Windows 11 laptop I bought her is working fine with a fresh Firefox browser installed about a week ago. What she wants is her web links, settings and saved passwords "copied" from the old laptop and installed on the new one! We have no idea how many there are to retrieve! I'm hoping that there might only be one folder that I can copy via "command line" prompt to a USB drive and move the file(s) to the new laptop the same way. Can anyone tell me what I need to know? Over the last 5 or 6 months, Firefox seems to have lost the capacity to remember my open tabs if my Mac is forced to restart. These open tabs are vital to my workflow. If this can't be solved, I shall have to migrate to another browser, which is something I do not wish to do.

My Firefox version is 147.0.4; my computer a Mac Studio 2025 M3 Ultra; my OS Tahoe 26.3.

Please advise.

I get why the domain is highlighted, and it's good! But the rest of the URL can be hard to read, especially with dark themes (see screenshot, taken of this page's URL bar, using the default Dark theme). I have tried to find a dark theme with better contrast, but haven't had any success.

Is there a setting that I can change to set the font colors or contrast between them?

The last update (which was VERY rocky... I had to reinstall and functionality has NOT been great since) eliminated the Bookmarks icon from the top ribbon. I've looked through settings, but find no way to restore it. Can it be restored? I now have to click the menu, Settings, and THEN Bookmarks.

My windows MSN app says this. When I select '"Open in Browser", this happens.

However, when I select "Video Hub", it works normally.

I tried clearing the cache and cookies. Reset. Uninstalled/reinstalled. I can separately access the website on Firefox.

Since last two updates, I noted I can't click on the URL field or any icons next to each other two versions ago. I changed the Bluetooth mouse to a lined mouse, then it went OK. But with the latest update, again, the same symptom occured and persists: I am on MacBookPro, so I manage to Command+any command key.

How can I restore and click on URL field, copy URL, or reload the URL address again? OF course, I need to use other icons for each function.
