I’m using the latest stable Firefox package from the official Mozilla repository for Ubuntu, on a system with 32GB of RAM.

I’m also using Microsoft Teams for work calls, in the browser (because Linux) and I notice that Ubuntu has killed the FF process twice last week because it was using too much memory - see attached image. I’ve only had 4 or 5 Teams calls last week so this isn’t a great success rate. It seems that after half an hour or so, FF has hogged so much memory that the OS feels the need to kill it.

If this is a known issue: are there any known workarounds?

If this is not a known issue :Can I help by providing troubleshooting data? How?

Firefox keeps shutting down and it will open up when I tap on the icon. I have to reload it to make it work, It seems like I have to do this everytime I shut the pc.

Beyond My Experience. As I Bring up Firefox Upper Right Flag Yo Update Firefox. IF I DISMISS, TROUBLE STARTS. FOR NO REASON ACCUWEATHR APPEARS. IF I X Firefox Shuts Down. Instead to Remain Online, I have to Use a Bookmark and Continue. Not in My Bookmarks, How Can I Stop That Annoyance Pop Up. Thanks, Joe

My tabs crash all the time. Sometimes it'll go a while without crashing, other times it's literally every two seconds. Particularly if I'm doing anything that doesn't autosave. Thanks. Sometimes it's just whatever tab I'm on (or occasionally I'll click on one I've had open in the background only to discover it crashed at some point, other times (and not infrequently!) it crashes the entire browser. Sometimes when it does that, it also logs me out of everything for no particular reason as a little sadistic cherry on top. The passwords are still saved I'm just logged out of EVERYTHING. A few times, it seemed to have made my bookmarks go away, but force-stopping it and re-entering made them reappear, so they weren't deleted. I don't know what's going on but I'm at my wit's end. The crash reports mostly just say EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_WRITE (I haven't checked every single one individually since there's too many, but the ones I've clicked on all say that as far as I recall). If this keeps up I'm going to have to switch browsers or something because I'm actually losing it.

Firefox frequently and continuously force-closes the entire program on me, multiple times a day. I have tried updating my computer, checking for Firefox updates, and any extension updates that could be affecting this. HOW DO YOU MAKE THIS STOP?

Hello, Whenever I open Firefox, it crashes repeatedly. This has been going on for at least a couple of weeks, whether it's right when I open it or hours later when I'm in the middle of something. I've disabled extensions, ran it in troubleshoot, and done the steps advised to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated as this has rendered Firefox unusable. Attached is a screenshot of the digits of the crash reports, as well as the link for the one from today.

For the past few weeks I have been having constant crashes in the form of tabs crashing and complete browser crashes. I have tried disabling every single extension, still crash. it even crashes in troubleshoot mode. In fact its crashed while I am writing this. Seriously thinking about giving up entirely on this browser and switching.

Since the 152.0 update I've experienced near nonstop browser crashing, it crashed twice as I was trying to type up and submit this message,

Is this a known issue or solely on my end? running 64 bit, windows 10

I don't want to spend any more on my PC. It was the largest amount of money I had ever seen when I first bought it. Even if I have way more resources now, I don't believe that a few faulty locations in my memory should be causing so many problems for myself and for developers who have no clue why their users keep crashing.

It is either my RAM or VRAM. Disabling XMP on my RAM dampened these issues but couldn't fully solve them.

It's exactly as I said. Normal programs just crash. Kernel-level programs or anti-cheats can entirely blue screen my PC. It all has to do with where these programs are writing to in my hardware. It's only a few locations that I have faulty. Most programs work fine. Most games work fine. Most crashes are very transient.

Firefox is a transient and common crasher for me. It's so painful to be scrolling a page and have the page crash, just for the previous page to load instead of the newer one that I was on, and on top of that I could also be losing work or effort.

I know this isn't exactly a dev support page, but this problem is so recurring that I don't know what to think anymore. There has to be a way to check which memory locations are fried without causing a bluescreen or crashing the program. Maybe it's a Windows issue and devs could easily fix it, if it weren't for Windows bottlenecks like labelling the faulty locations as "protected". I've seen at least 1 crash where the output said something like "Error: tried writing to protected location" blah blah blah then it spit out some hexcode or exact location and blahblahblah. And that was the entire error message.
