I downloaded the new update this morning and I cannot separate my categories any longer on my home page. I keep them in categories on the 4 separate rows and then separate them by skipping a square. I cannot do that any longer and do not like the jumble of the homepage now. How can I keep the blank spaces that are located at the bottom of the rows to separate my categories?

I accidentally pressed a lot of keys on my keyboard and for some reason the default colors of Firefox have changed. I found out that by using Ctrl+Alt+D that I can switch the colors back to normal or to the colors that now appear automatically, but this only works for one tab. If I open a new tab, it shows the weird colors (see images below). I tried looking up specific shortcuts for Firefox considering the shortcut mentioned before (Ctrl+Alt+D) only works on Firefox. But I can't find any shortcut tied to that combination. I'm unsure what to do and how to fix this.

I would appreciate it if someone could tell me how to fix this.

Hello, I just got a new laptop with windows 11. I just did the latest update to Firefox. Everything is a little large but an internet search addresses these: BUT.... The 'bookmark this page', the star in the URL line, menu is small and the fonts are micro. Zooming or changing fonts in the hamburger menu doesn't correct this. Attached. Thank you.

I currently have a 'bad/rouge' session of Windows 7 Firefox (don't really know how that happened) open (7 'Windows', each with one empty Tab plus 1 'Window', with only 1 populated tab (Yahoo Mail)! I need to close Firefox in order to restart my laptop (strange things have been happening, including not being able to access the internet)!! On restarting, I want to be able to open Firefox with the previous session I had with my 8 'Windows', each with dozens and dozens of Tabs! Please help, I sorely need those many 'Windows' and Tabs!!!

I need to be able to use Command-I (for italics) or Command-B (for bold) when using Firefox to write emails and enter information on other websites WITHOUT Firefox opening Page Information or Bookmarks.

This is basic browser functionality! People use browsers to write emails and other online documents, and the hotkey combo for things like Bold and Italics on Macs are Cmd-B and Cmd-I. All such websites I use recognize that as a standard, but Firefox insists on using those same commands for browser features I almost never use and certainly don't need hotkeys for.

All the information I'm finding online on how to fix this is deeply unhelpful and far more complicated than I can handle. Can you please tell me if there is a simple way to stop Firefox from pulling up Page Information and Bookmarks as a result of keyboard commands, or at least for me to change what those commands are so that they don't conflict with industry standard commands for text formatting on the vast majority of websites?

Sorry, posted recently and had then trouble finding out how to respond to help offered (jscher2000)! Noticed that the email version was "no-reply" so I didn't figure that would work! So, I tried to 'cut and paste' my reply (on a smartphone) and I ended up losing even the email reply text so here is a reconstruction. I tried the suggestions in order and the first one didn't have a "Restore previous session" option and the second one had "Recently closed windows" greyed out! And, when I entered "about.support" in the address bar (top rightish), I received a notice that I couldn't reach Google (Remember that I don't currently have internet access on my laptop). So, no joy there either! Can I not just change some current setting to prevent Firefox v 115.9lesr from saving the current 'Windows' and Tabs so that, when I again open Firefox, the previous session 'Windows' and Tabs would be used?!?

Just updated a friend's computer from Windows 7 to 10. Installed firefox over previous ESR and now there's no way to remove the search bar from the new tab page. On my W10 system, the search bar isn't there, not sure how or why, but on her's there's no option NOT to show it as there used to be.

I found some VERY old (2014) info on this but doesn't seem to be up to date.

PLEASE give us our options back and stop taking them away, sheesh, getting as bad as Microsoft.

Is there a workaround for this to remove the redundant search bar from the new tab page since you can search from the address bar?

the issue now i have with firefox 124.0.2 is that the transition is now instant when my mouse enters or leaves the window and one of my addon buttons (roboform) no longer works with this userchrome.css edit.

its been a few updates ago it broke maybe 15 or so and now im wondering if there is a better updated script that works like it used to.

I'm using the 'Simple Tab Groups' add-on on my Mac computer and am happy with it but I have one question. When I click on a web link in an email (I use the native Apple Mail), it of course takes me to my default browser which is Firefox, and then within Firefox to the simple tab group that I had open in Firefox before clicking the link. Logically I guess that's reasonable behavior but typically that's not necessarily what I want; I'd rather it open the web page in my 'main' tab group.

Is there a configuration option to say: "When clicking on a web link in an email, open to this xxxxxx default tab group"?

remove ad blockers even though I already have removed them.

printer is not recognized as being online although my other devices don't have the problem. i use Firefox on all devices

Hello everyone, I’m a fan of Firefox due to its efficient handling of webpage caching and memory management. However, I often find myself switching back to the Chromium-based Edge browser due to one specific feature in its DevTools. In Edge, when I resize the viewport, it stops at a certain limit. If I want to resize it further, I can zoom out and then continue resizing. I find this feature very useful. Is there a way to have similar functionality in Firefox? I’m currently using the Firefox Developer Edition.

I was playing around with my DMARC settings for my new site and was looking around at who was hosting my WordPress domain for http://ibizignite.com, and Google directed me to GoDaddy. That was wrong. However, in my fooling around, somehow GoDaddy and this associate Westechnologies keeps popping up when I open up my browser after booting up my computer, and I cannot get rid of it. I don't know where to find it, because there is no associated extension anywhere in my extension list.

I tried to use another add-on to block it, and it does, but the darn site keeps appearing every startup after a fresh boot, and neither Westechnologies not GoDaddy appear anywhere in my Zone Map or anywhere else in my registry. Can anyone help me get rid of it please?

Others asked and were pointed to extensions. As long as extensions get access to my pages, I'm not willing to use any. So, is there an option in advanced settings, to return to previously viewed tab when I close a tab? Thanks, Cat

Hi so am using version 125.0.1 and on my windows 10 machine I can add custom Search Shortcuts (the Add button is present) but on my windows 11 machine, the same settings page the Add button is dissapeared... Is it a limitation for Windows 11 machines?

I find it very difficult using Awsome screenshot, in fact I never use it, but used to use it, when it was on my tool bar, can I get it back there.

I cannot drag it from "customise tool bar" as it does not show there, it shows in my list of add ons, I have tried removing it, then reinstalling it.

Sometimes all add-ons / extensions break randomly and are disabled (the icon of the extensions is also broken under "Manage Your Extensions").

The extensions are visible under "about:addons", but the slider is turned off and the icon in front of each extension is broken / empty.

It seems that deleting these 2 files- compatibility.ini and extensions.json inside the firefox profile folder, usually fixes the issue. Only these 2 files though, don't delete anything else.

No need to mess around with the ff profiles or anything else, just deleting those 2 files and restarting the firefox usually fixes the issue with the "unregistered" addons.

This thread is for the search function, as I found some VERY old and outdated suggestions for the aforementioned issue using the search function.

I wonder what causes the extensions to "unregister" randomly.
