Firefox suddenly has an AI assistant that pops up on a tool bar on the left side of the screen with a green dot beside it. I want to turn this off and make it disappear, if possible. Please tell me how to do that.

Can't enter text into body of post, ghosted (title allows me to type) on select sites (Kodi.tv). Changed to Chrome no issue. win10/64/FF 148

Strangeness... seem to be able to type post title, but not message body in all the forum threads. trying to post gives me an error and I am loggged in. Just re-installed Firefox.. no issues on other sites, the text body is ghosted... but not the title bar. At this point;  I'm locked out of messaging in the forum. (edited)

I love Firefox and NEVER use Safari. I thought something had happened to my MacBook Air, stuck space bar or maybe even a virus? BUT the space bar issue doesn't occur when I use Safari. The issue is this: I will use Firefox (for everything). All of a sudden, the space bar becomes "engaged" and my text starts scooting across with spaces between it. I can hear it "stutter" a sharp sound each time it lurches along. I can then open up a word doc and the thing follows me there. Or when trying to close an unsaved word doc to prep for closing the computer. I restart the computer and to begin with, the spacebar issue is resolved but before long (sooner and sooner) it begins again to the point that I am restarting my computer now within about five minutes. I have uninstalled and re-installed Firefox to no avail. BUT, I can use other programs without problem as long as the problem hasn't already begun again, via Firefox. What on earth? I am now stuck using Safari... I have the most recent Firefox installed. I just re-installed the program a second time, yesterday. I don't want to open the program or I'll end up turning it off and on again and lose all of this but it was updated as of yesterday but I keep up on all the updates, all the time. It's been going on...about 4 weeks? But it started with occurring maybe once a week, then once a couple days now to the place it is multiple times to constant, during a day. I cannot use Firefox until this is resolved. Thank you for whatever help you can offer. I've run the diagnostic /first aid stuff to no avail through my utilities.

Attempted to update FF using the 140.2.0esr.msi file. During install it asked for a location of bookmarks (seemed off, like a new install) so the process was stopped. All FF profile files appeared to have been untouched based on their dates. So the following directories: \AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\oeg1ubpo.default-esr \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\oeg1ubpo.default-esr where both copied to a secondary directory as a safety precaution. Install was restarted and it appears to have again installed a new version with no bookmarks, extensions or password DB carried forward from the previous install, which is not what I wanted.

Can this be corrected, by moving the copied profile back in.

Hi, for about the last week (23 Feb 2026) when watching videos in my Firefox Browser, there are short stutters. First noticed in Youtube, so looked for updates to UBO and other extensions. Then noticed the same thing in BBC iPlayer and my4 streaming. It also happens when watching my media via Plex in the browser. It is not my network bandwidth or speed.

When I watch media via my Plex app or videos on VLC media player, there is no stutter.

I use Firefox as my desktop (and phone) browser. Recently my desktop cannot open my USBank Online banking service (my Android Firefox phone browser works fine). The USBank customer technical service agent tells me that their software does not recognize the Firefox browser - he says that AVG Secure, Microsoft Edge , and Google Chrome work fine). How do I rectify this without changing browsers? I've used Firefox for opver a decade without trouble. Help!

Since installing the latest FF update (148) a few days ago, I have trouble replying to any topic on this site: https://www.4x4community.co.za/forum/. Prior to this update, there was no problem in replying or posting to the forum.

I do not have this problem on any of the other forums of which I am a member, only this one. I can log in and read posts with no problem, but I cannot reply to any post. I am also unable to start a new post on this particular forum (of which I am a Moderator). There is no flashing cursor when I wish to post, and I also cannot 'copy & paste' a reply either.

I have disabled Malware Bytes, Dark Reader and AdBlock plug-ins, this makes no difference.

If, however, I run FF in the "Troubleshoot" mode, I am able to to post replies to this forum. I have reinstalled FF v148 twice, the issue remains.

Testing the same forum with Opera browser I can access and reply to the forum above, even though with Opera I use the same plug-ins mentioned above turned on. It appears to thus be a FF permissions issue. I have cleared my Cookies and cache but this did not help.

Do you have any other suggestions? I am a FF user from day 1 all those years ago and have no desire to change to another browser.

Firefox memorizes userIDs and I do not see an option to stop it from doing so. Is there an option?

Keep in mind that passwords are not limited to the password entry. Every entry in a sign-in process is an opportunity for a password. For example, the answer to "What street did you grow up on?" could be "Beatlejoice". Similarly, the answer to "What was your mother's middle name?" could be "Aardvark". Nonsensical answers to security questions are more secure than truthful answers.

Again, in the interest of security, is there an option to stop firefox from remembering so much?

these shortcuts appear on my firefox home page are so annoying here is my setting , i toggle off all shortcuts related to history or sponsored shortcuts but they still pop up each time , i want to disable this feature i need only my selected shortcuts appear on home page what can i do ?

I know that there is already default containers built-in without the need of the extension. But there's no way to open tabs in containers when we click a link, only when it's typed in. There's an option in settings that allow to pick a container when a new tab is opened, but that's it. It would also be great to move the Mozilla VPN and integration and sync function from the extension to the settings page for easier access.
