I already tried clearing cookies etc. Unchecking the "allow sites to choose their own fonts" fixes it but obviously I don't really want that disabled. I switched off Chrome recently so I'm already quite disappointed tbh.

I don't know why any browser never seems to allow for this. I hate using the mouse wheel to scroll down webpages and always use the scroll bar on the right side. Problem is most of the time it's way to skinny/narrow to be practically used and the bar you use to scroll it up and down - especially on long pages - is so tiny as to be completely unusable. It may not be an issue for tweens who still have eyes like hawks but for older people, like me, it's a pain in the tuchus. I'd like to be able to increase both the size - width mostly - of the slide rail and increase the overall size of the slide bar you use to control it.

Thanks!

So, I recently updated my copy of Mozilla Firefox, and I noticed something strange. The button for the built-in VPN is disproportionately large to other buttons and clickable elements. I don't see it in the release notes, so I doubt this is an intentional design choice by the UX team, at least I hope it isn't. Any help will be greatly appreciated, as it is really distracting.

If it helps, I'm using Mozilla Firefox 151.0.2 running under GNU/Linux Debian 13 Trixie as a Flatpak.

While I can make the website text bigger, I can't make the menu items bigger. I have to lean in, shut one eye, and then I can squint to see the text on my big screen. On the Mac screen, it is too small to read. Enlarging the text on the Mac screen doesn't enlarge the menu items.

Mozilla can help by figuring out a way to allow the menu items to be enlarged, perhaps when the screen itself is enlarged?

Animated icons worked in the previous versions and I like them. It was also a way in which Firefox differentiated itself from the Gobble/Microslop browsers.

Is there a way for me to enable animated icon viewing in the latest browser versions so I can continue to view them? I really hate that animated web page icons now appear as static icons. Hate, hate, hate.

A while ago I made some changes in about:config and also in my ~/.config/gtk-3.0/gtk,css file so as to control my scrollbar and slider -- making them more visible:

/* Log out, and back in for these changed to take effect: */

scrollbar { background-color: #cccccc; } scrollbar slider { min-width: 20px; }

/* dark green: pointer is not in the active window */ scrollbar slider:backdrop { background-color: #00aa00; }

/* green: pointer is in the active window but not on a slider */ scrollbar slider { background-color: #00ff00; }

/* dark red: pointer is hovering over slider but mouse button not pressed */ scrollbar slider:hover { background-color: #aa0000; }

/* red: slider is active */ scrollbar slider:hover:active { background-color: #ff0000; }

/* No effect: */ /* scrollbar-color: blue white; */

... it works half the time. Some pages obey the above settings but other pages continued to show a scrollbar about a mm wide with the slider so faint as to barely be visible. So, in 'about:config' :

widget.non-native-theme.scrollbar.size.override 30

... at least made the narrow scrollbar a bit wider. But how to change it's color? Doing this in a file:

~/.mozilla/firefox/5dqk4533.default/chrome/userContent.css:

html,body{

   scrollbar-color: yellow blue !important;
  }
.... doesn't change anything. Is there some complete guide to controlling the srollbars? Nice if it could all be handled in one place of course.

Hello,

In Firefox (up to date), the “module” (right-click) that allows for direct translation is great, and I want to thank you for it.

However, do you plan to keep the “Windows 98-style” stamp-like format of the dialog box that opens for much longer? In 2026, on 27-inch screens, it’s honestly very annoying—even if you can zoom in just a tiny bit, it’s a pointless step and not ergonomic at all! It’s the little details like this that make us look elsewhere!

Thank you in advance for your understanding!

Deleted new weather widget but horizontal space at top of home page remains

Greetings...

I successfully deleted the new weather widget that appears at the top right of my Firefox homepage but the horizontal space at the top of my homepage remains. I followed all of the steps (3) to delete the weather widget but none of them also deleted the horizontal space. As a result, there is a wide white top "margin" that appears on my homepage, below which the customary Firefox graphic logo appears.

On my Firefox homepage, I have three rows of shortcuts that now appear lower on the homepage and a vertical scroll bar now appears on the right side of the homepage. Before the new weather widget appeared on my homepage, the three rows of shortcuts were vertically centered on the homepage, without the need for a vertical scroll bar to appear.

Either there is a way that the horizontal space at the top of my homepage can be deleted, or I will have to resort to creating a custom HTML webpage containing my shortcuts.

Please advise which solution will resolve this problem. Thank you very much for your time and feedback.

Take care...
