Embedded links in Outlook email on Windows 10 will not open automatically when the new email is first opened to be read if Firefox has been selected as the default Browser. This is a new issue !

The message is" if there are problems with how this message is displayed, click HERE to view it in a web browser " and then the Browser used is only Edge!

Restoring disliked Edge to be the default browser corrects the issue but Edge is a known tracking device.

Greetings everyone,

I have 8gb of RAM installed on my laptop running Windows 10 Pro.

However, I'm always running out of RAM because Firefox is using almost all of it.

I'm unable to open any other App while I have Firefox running because there just isn't any RAM available. :( :( :( :( :(

I'm constantly trying to close tabs and windows, but I just wanted to know if there was another solution?

I've used other web browsers that have a "sleep tab" feature where the tab will use very little RAM if the user hasn't accessed it for about 15 seconds to 1minute.

What else can I do?

Thank you for any help!

Hi,

i want to autoupdate firefox silently on a bunch of servers. When the mentioned settings are in place i'm still promted to update firefox when opening it. This isn't possible for the users as this is something a systemengineer should do. Is there anything i'm missing for a silent autoupdate? There is no JSON file in place. these settings have been distributed by a GPO.

Kind regards,

Remco

I‘m somewhat uncertain: I downloaded the Firefox Installer from (I believe) Mozilla.org via Edge. When I tried to Upload the file to VirusTotal I got errors first and it only worked after restarting the laptop.

The file hadn‘t been analyzed so far (which surprised me), 1 out of 72 scanners claimed to have found a Trojan but what bothered me more was that according to VirusTotal the file was compiled in 2018 with Microsoft Visual C/C++ 12.00.8168. It was also somewhat smaller than the last Installer I downloaded (342kb vs. 390kb), although both should be version 18.05.

So I‘m a little concerned if the downloaded file is legitimate?

Hello! I need some help. Every since 4-6 months ago, Firefox has been extremely slow when I boot it up at first, with some page load times taking more than 10 minutes. Some fixes have seemed to work, but they never work permanently. From my testing, it is not the result of any extension and the issue persists in troubleshoot mode. What has not helped my testing is that, after enough restarts of Firefox, the problem goes away and web pages load quickly, so this has caused some false positives. Has anyone else had a similar problem they were able to fix? Should I try uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling it?

After updating to v120 my Firefox started behaving strangely. With v119 I was able to fire up my Linux and Firefox and had immediate access to both Gmail and Calendar. Now I am requested to sign in every time, are offered a Shareable Calendar (for which I have no use) and get a notification in my cell phone reporting a new login. It would appear that the problem lies in syncing as WhatsApp Web is also requesting scanning its QR code every time too. This is most annoying. No settings were changed after the update. As a temporary solution I grabbed a v119 tar.gz from my wife's laptop and installed it in mine. Now all is behaving normally as before. Am I doing something wrong? Will appreciate any help you can provide.

In the last few months, when clicking on the file icon to download a PDF, the "save as" dialog box does not show up fully and I have to view all windows then click on any open window for the dialog box to appear.

I am on a Mac desktop, running MacOS Monterey 12.6.5 I just updated Firefox, to 120.0.1

I attached an image of what the screen looks like after I click the file icon (top right) to download a PDF. It only shows the "Format" part of the "save as" dialog box until I zoom out to view all the windows then have to click on any open window, then the full dialog box will allow me to choose a location to save and rename.

Any help if this a Firefox issue or a Mac issue?

Shortcut icons (4 rows of them) have disappeared from my Firefox home tab. After a Firefox update, they were gone. Just white boxes. Please, someone help me! Thanks!

I'm using a new PC with Windows 11 and find that I, inadvertently close Firefox with 16-20 open tabs. Most of the time when I reopen FF, the tabs are still there, as expected. Sometimes, the browser opens with just a new home page and the pinned and other tabs have closed. I can sometimes see the 16ish tabs in history and reopen them. More recently, I find that they are not in history as a number of tabs so I have to set them up again. This rarely happened on my old PC and if it did I would have bookmarked a group of open tabs that I used regularly.

The failsafe FF General setting is as follows: Startup, Open previous windows and tabs.

I don't know how I can stop losing my open Tabs but if I was able to bookmark all the open tabs to be used in case of a problem I would feel more secure.

How do I bookmark ALL or several my open tabs?
