On old laptop, I got a toolbar type of crawl with RSS feeds. Now have 18.0.2 and do not get to see what is latest all the time. How do I get RSS crawl?

Is the crawl bar available or not for RSS? This was a favorite feature of mine for keeping up on news without having to open a site or click on anything but the headline which interested me. If crawl is no longer available, is there a page to get similar things to old RSS feeds? Can it be done through FaceBook?

The only RSS feature included in Firefox is live bookmarks.

For a news ticker, you were probably using an add-on like HeadlinesTicker.

As far as I know, that's the only news ticker add-on available (another one, NewsBar seems to be outdated and non-functional in the latest version of Firefox). However, there are numerous other feed reader add-ons that display the news in formats other than a news ticker.

You can also subscribe to feeds through web sites like the following.

I have exactly the same question. I downloaded HeadlinesTicker and entered the feed locations for both BBC and NYT news feeds. It seemed to accept them, other than each has a checkbox to the left of the entry and there is no way to put a check or an "x" into the checkbox. The newsfeed scrolling window does not appear in Firefox, even after closing and reopening it. I am using FF v.22.0.

This is all a bit strange, since I am also using 22.0 on my work machine and I have never lost the scrolling newsfeed function. My OS on the work machine is XP while my OS here is Win7, in case this makes a difference.

And in case this is important, I have absolutely NO idea what a "URI" is (the add on asks for this). And there is no help link for this add on.

TIA for any help you can provide.

See this for an explanation of URI.

Thanks. I won't pretend that I understand all of that, but at least I do know now why a URI is not the same as a URL. Appreciate your response.
