Can't login to certain sites and Firefox doesn't set changes for Permissions

Each time Firefox upgrades I have difficulty logging into www.cokeunleashed.com.au. Had this problem in the past and was fixed by going to Tools, Page Info, Permissions. When I go to Tools, Options, Privacy and make changes, click OK but when I go back the changes have not happened.

I am also having difficulty logging into to supercoach on www.heraldsun.com.au website

If you make changes in the Options window and the changes goes back to its previous value when you open the Options window again see: Preferences are not saved

Hi ideato,

Thanks for your help but the preferences still keep changing. I'm not a geek but following the option with the prefs file made no difference. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling firefox and it has made no difference. I've now spent too much time on something so frustrating so I will go back to IE.

Rename the file "permissions.sqlite" to permissions.sqlite.sav in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file is corrupted.

This will remove all exceptions (cookies, images, pop-ups, software).
If renaming didn't help then you can undo and rename the file permissions.sqlite.sav to permissions.sqlite to get back the old exceptions.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder

Hi cor-el,

Thanks for your help. I'm not a geek so I wasn't able to save as .sav.

Sorry I really have to give up on this as it is wasting too much time for me last year I no trouble accessing supercoach using Firefox. Each time there is an upgrade of Firefox I have this difficulty with cokeunleashed.

Considering both sites are ran by big corporations (CocaCola Amatil and News Corp) it's up to Firefox to fix not someone who knows how to turn on a computer.
