Win OS upgrade - how to preserve Firefox settings?

I intend to upgrade my desktop PC from Win 8.1 to Win 10 soon due to Microsoft discontinuing support for 8.1 next January and I want to know how to preserve all my current settings in Firefox (including saved Pocket articles). Also, does anyone know for certain whether or not Firefox will be automatically migrated to Win 10 in the upgrade? (If it does, maybe that will answer my first question?)

If you have a 2nd computer, I would sync your data to the other computer. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-set-sync-my-computer
