how to prevent Firefox from relaoding gmail items that have been moved to trash

My laptop is a MacBook Pro, OS 10.13.3, Firefox is my preferred browser & I use gmail as my only mail. When I reload/refresh my mail, items that I have moved to the Trash re-appear in my Inbox. The only work around that I have found is to go to Trash before refreshing & "delete forever" Before refreshing - this is a pain in the butt! HELP!!!

I don't think Firefox can move items between Gmail folders (or apply Gmail "tags" "labels") on its own. I also don't think it can "Undo" the last action on its own, although if there is a button/link for that, perhaps it is getting triggered somehow.

Is Gmail possibly showing some kind of combined view including both the Inbox taglabel and the Trash taglabel?
