only runs in safe mode?

Partners FF is playing up. Win 7 pro, quad core pc 16gb RAM.

If she starts in normal mode, all she gets in (Not responding, for hours!) , It will start in safe mode, but she wants normal to work.

What we've tried.

Turning off plugins and extensions, slow process - not pinned anything down yet...

I did an uninstall and re-install (after reboot) of latest vers 40.0.3 this re-install worked but did NOT appear to reset FF to 'Factory' settings i.e. it kept all of the plug ins and extensions that had been there previously.

So as the settings had not changed, it still only runs in Safe, and locks in normal mode.

It does generate an event in Event logs, which I posted below.

The program firefox.exe version 40.0.3.5716 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel. (<<< Not sure about this item? Windows action center or FF action center, as usual with Win, vague as hell.)

Obviously I'd like to resolve whatever conflict is causing this, but perhaps I could just completely remove FF and start clean.

Can anyone. 1. Suggest a fix based on the information above. 2. Tell me how I can install a clean blank new version of FF to the machine and add required plug ins until one breaks it? McP.
