Untrusted Connection cannot be bypassed, even for support.mozilla.org
Any secure site is viewed as an untrusted connection. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown. I have two work computers - Firefox works on one, but not the other. I have looked at the other relevant articles already, and tried everything to fix this problem. I have completely reinstalled Firefox, I have refreshed it, I have deleted the cert8.db file, I have run it in safe mode, and I have run it with the Skip Cert Error 0.4.4 extension. Nothing works - I cannot even access support.mozilla.org without running into this error. If I let the skip cert error do its thing for a while, sometimes I can access a bare-bones version of the site with a white background and all links in blue underlined text, all aligned left. There's got to be a better way.
Unfortunately, I cannot post from the computer that has the problem, as it can't access this site.... let me know what information would be helpful and I'll copy it over.
Solution choisie
If you check the following dialog on the working computer, you may find an imported certificate for the Cisco IronPort device that allows Firefox to trust its "fake" certificates:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Certificates mini-tab > "View Certificates" button > Authorities tab
You should be able to Export from that tab and Import on the corresponding tab on the Firefox that is not set up to trust the device.

hello, first please make sure that the date, time & timezone are set correctly on your system. if this doesn't solve the issue (or it is already set properly), a possible solution depends on different factors:
- what is the error code shown under technical details on the error page?
in case the error code equals sec_error_unknown_issuer, please attempt to add an exception on the bottom of the error page in order to inspect the certificate like it is shown on the screenshot attached:
- which issuer information does the certificate contain?

Yes, the date, time and timezone are all set correctly. The error I'm receiving is consistently "The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown." I attached a screenshot.
The error code equals "sec_error_unknown_issuer"
The issuer information is attached, with my company's name markd out. I do not have this problem on another work computer, so I don't know why it would be my work connection.
thanks. it appears that your company is intercepting encrypted network traffic then (either for security or monitoring purposes) - for firefox this looks like a man-in-the-middle attack unless that issuer certificate is imported into the browser's trust store. please consult with your IT department about that...
