why does firefox clear urls over night

the different url's (websites) disappear over night, from the search bar. I put them back in and use the down arrow during the day, over night they disappear. Any suggestions

Hi luapg,

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu
  2. then click Options.
  3. Under History, make sure it is set to Firefox will: Remember History

Also make sure that under Location Bar, History is checked.

If you are running any kind of PC cleaner that also might be clearing Firefox's history which will prevent it from suggesting websites.

Alternatively, if you click the star to bookmark the websites then Firefox will save them permanently.

If you try that, sure that under Location Bar, Bookmarks is checked.

Let me know if that solves your problem.

Do you mean the suggestions that show in the location/address bar drop-down list?

In case you use "Clear history when Firefox closes" or otherwise clear history:

  • do not clear the Browsing History

Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, passwords, and other website specific data.

It is also possible that you have cleanup software on your computer that removes the history.

Thanks, It looks like the "advanced system care" on my machine was the culprit
