A reset will try to recover names and passwords and that might not work if involved files are corrupted.

Deleting the signons.sqlite and key3.db files with Firefox closed should be sufficient under normal conditions and if there is no other (security) software interfering.

You did make sure to delete these files in the current Firefox profile folder?

Was Firefox closed when you deleted these files?

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

Are there still names and passwords present in the Password Manager?
