Hi all -

I have a couple of profile files from TB 78.

I seem to be missing some emails that in my default profile and I would like to examine the other two profile files to see if they contain old messages that I would like to import into my current profile. Don't know how to do this.

I can't mess this up.

Any help appreciated. Urgent need.

Need to see the contents of each without hosing my email. And be able to select what I need and add to the main profile - whichever that is!

The 'default-release' is the newest and probably created when you installed latest version.

Click on eg: kwetjlue.default folder It will show you the contents - a load of files and folders. 'Mail' folder contains pop mail accounts and the 'Local Folders' mail account. 'ImapMail' folder contains only imap mail accounts.

Click on eg: pop mail account name folder to see contents.

Files that do not have any extension are called mbox files. These are text files and can be opened using a text editor program eg: Notepad++. But it depends upon their size. If you have allowed them to become very large then you need to locate a text editor program that can cope with the size. Emails are written to the file in the order downloaded, so the oldest is at the top. It may take some reading to locate what you are looking for.

Emails are not stored individually.

Files with .msf extension are index files and they do not contain emails. Folders with .sbd extension mean you created subfolders. These folders may contain mbox files.

At this point I'm only offering information on how things are stored and where they are stored. I would need to understand your situation a bit better to advise on what is the best way forward to try to resolve your particular situation.

re :I seem to be missing some emails that in my default profile Please offer more info. Are you missing an entire folder ? Is that folder in a pop or imap account or in Local Folders mail account? Are the missing emails all in one particular folder? Do you only see new/recent emails, but older ones are missing in that folder?

Do not compact anything at this point.
