Unable to sign in to Amazon. Amazon says there's a password change problem with Firefox. They told me to switch browsers

On Amazon log in, on password, I suddenly found a series of black dots (turned out to be series of jumbled numbers and letters). Amazon had me to go settings-options-Security. From there I went to Amazon, was able to delete series of dots but not an old PW. However, I was unable to use that old PW to log in.

Amazon said they couldn't help me and that there is a problem with Firefox passwords, at least for them, they sent me to another browser to log in to Amazon.

I'd like to keep using Firefox
