Links in emails (Outlook) won't open in Firefox, which was my default browser?

Firefox has been my default browser for years. I use Outlook for email, and have also for years. Suddenly, a few weeks ago, Firefox stopped opening links I click on within an email. So I've temporarily switched to Windows Explorer as my default browser; and, the email links do open in there OK.

I'm running Windows Vista in case that matters, on this notebook.

How do I fix this in Firefox? Or, do I have to continue to use Explorer as my default browser?
