Thank you for the crash ID.

Is it correct that you are running Firefox 15 on Windows 7? Did you try Firefox 21 to see whether older bugs that might be causing this have been fixed? When I look at the report of recent crashes, it seems to disproportionately affect Firefox 15-19, and be rarer in Firefox 20-21.

You can always grab the latest installer here: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/fx/#desktop (scroll down to the green button).

Got rid of KB 2670838 and can start internet explorer and firefox, however firefox is extremely slow to respond, and it tells me that the history and bookmark functions are out of use as a firefox file is in use by another program.

Hi mattys, you can check your version under Help > About Firefox.

To resolve the in-use condition, you could try restarting Windows, if you didn't do that after removing that KB. There also are some "lock" files that could be cleared but I don't have a reference handy. Probably another volunteer will be able to relate those details.
