I need to start from scratch with Sync, but since the Firefox Sync server will not delete my account as I have requested I am stuck with being unable to get Sync to work.

The following will delete your Sync account and all data stored on the server. You will need to establish a new account and start over.

Go to the following address: https://account.services.mozilla.com/

If you DO NOT remember your password, press the "Forgot your password?" link and it will be sent to the e-mail address that you used for registration.

Enter your e-mail address and your password. Follow any additional prompts. This should remove your account and all Sync data associated with your account from the servers.

Then, set up a new account.

This is exactly what I have been doing for over a week and all that happens is I get the following message from the Sync server, "Oh dear. Looks like one of the dinosaurs escaped again. We keep them away from the data, so that should be safe. Please try again later when we've wrestled him back onto the treadmill". The server does not delete my account and I cannot setup Sync on my PC.

The information about the message would have been helpful in your first post.

I have just spent 45 minutes searching for any information on that error. The latest thing that I can find is, about a month ago, there was a problem with the Sync server that stores the information. I have searched the Bugzilla site (which is very difficult to search) and I see nothing. You indicate that you have had the problem for over a week; not good.

I do not use Sync myself. Maybe one of the other volunteers has some information on this problem.

I've setup a new sync account and was getting some connect errors on first sync, so I've tried to delete the account and start again and this exact issue comes up on the delete.
