Hi, i want to save my Bookmarks in a way that i can access, manage and continiously use them across various windows users, so basically like a local bookmark cloud, i dont think this is possible in any other way then to store them as link-files directly on the folder (or is there?)

Is there a way that i can export my already set booksmarks to seperate link files (one file for one link) without having to open each one and drag them from the address bar?

PS for clarification, you can already drag links from the manage bookmarks menu, but you cannot mark multiple bookmarks and drag (nothing happens), my goal is basically to draw multiple bookmarks to a folder and end up with one link file for each bookmark

One thing you can think about is using sync. However, this would share all bookmarks, not just the ones you want. But you could create a 'public' profile for this.

Open the Bookmarks Manager; Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the toolbar, and select Bookmarks. Hot key is <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> B.

Once the window is open, at the top of the page, press the button labeled Import and Backup. Select Export Bookmarks To HTML, and follow the prompts and save it to a HTML file. Copy the file to another computer. Repeat the instructions above, BUT select Import Bookmarks From HTML.

yes, thanks, yeah that is kinda the purpose, i want to let other ppl work on the computer and use my bookmarks without giving access or insight into more personal stuff like social network stuff

problem is i use a lot of addons and for them to work i need an older version of firefox (cyberfox actually), not sure sync will work with that, but ill look into it

i also think managing links is generally more practical in files, for the better management possibilities, and also no need to backup and restore, no compatibility issues across versions and browsers aso.

What you could do is post the links you want to the cloud, with access for those that want to see the list. You could edit it when you want (I think).

Export Bookmarks to HTML ... and then edit that file to remove the bookmarks that you don't want to share. Can be edited in any text reader program or much easier to edit with an HTML program such as BlueGriffon. http://bluegriffon.org/

Then open that file in Firefox and see if that will work for you.

Email that file to share those links or upload to personal web space. I did that for many years with my Comcast Personal Webspace / website and just emailed the link to various people as needed. I did it that way so that as I added bookmarks and uploaded a new HTML every now and then those people would have access the the latest bookmarks; until Comcast did away with personal webspace a few years ago.
