On the Post Office website track and trace page nothing happens when I entered my tracking reference number. Using the same website on another browser such as Chrome does allow tracking information to be shown when I enter the tracking reference. I have used the track and trace service in previous versions of Firefox with no trouble but in the latest version of Firefox the track and trace will not work. I have Firefox Quantum version 57.0.4 on my PC.

It could be your Extensions that are the issue : Avast Online Security 12.0.296 IBM Security Rapport 2.1.19 Please try this way to find out : SAFE MODE

In Firefox Safe mode these changes are effective:

  • all extensions are disabled (about:addons)
  • default theme is used (no persona)
  • userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored (chrome folder)
  • default toolbar layout is used (file: localstore-safe.rdf)
  • Javascript JIT compilers are disabled (prefs: javascript.options.*jit)
  • hardware acceleration is disabled (Options > Advanced > General)
  • plugins are not affected
  • preferences are not affected

TEST..................................

You have 2 Video Cards Active adapterDescription: NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 adapterDescription2: AMD Radeon HD 8570D driverDate: 12-15-2017 driverDate2: 11-4-2015 Which is suppose to be # 1 and why is the other still turned on in BIOS Figure out what you have going here and update your Drivers.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Worked through all the suggestions, the problem did not happen in safe mode , I was able to access the tracking for my letter, but working through the extensions and themes and the other troubleshooting options i have still not been able to identify what is causing the problem.

interestingly in safe mode the home page for the Post Office website had changed but out of safe mode it reverted back to the one I had on my screen when I first identified the problem. No idea what to try next

Have continued playing around with possible solutions and ideas and found that on websites with videos, the videos were not available/would not play. realised that tracking protection was turned on and that prevented the videos playing so I tried the post office track and trace again and I turned off the tracking protection and I finally got my post office track and trace information to show.

So problem solved.
