So every time I am checking on 10 day weather forecast, FF defaults to a location good about 25 miles away. I can not find a way to set MY actual location in FF so that it defaults to that. We live in foothills and weather is quite different from the other town, which is on sound shore.

Questions about the Forecastfox add-on have been posted frequently as of late, and since you didn't mention Google 10 day weather specifically I guessed wrong - so shoot me.

What does this page say about your location? http://whatismyipaddress.com/

Your IP Address is usually used to determine your physical location. If you are out a rural area, it can be off by many miles based upon your ISP and how well they "report" your location on their service network. And sometimes it can be misreported by many miles when their network is undergoing upgrades; usually just temporarily.

Firefox doesn't include "weather forecasting" - you must have installed an add-on to get that feature.

Which add-on is that? Is that add-on compatible with Firefox 33? Have you read the instructions for that add-on on the download page for that add-on? Did you look for a "homepage" for that add-on, for use instructions?

Why did you decide it's an add on? I simply Google 10 day weather and browser by itself decides that I am located 25 miles away from where I'm actually at. All I want is to set up FF so that it knows physical location.

I'll shoot but I'll miss intentionally. Just kidding. Makes sense. Location based off IP address. Yeah, my IP is more towards the other town, than it is towards my true location. Of course I can type 10 day weather maple valley wa, but it's inefficient, one would safely presume FF should be able to know close enough where it is. OK, so it's no fixable. And yes indeed, I am out in sticks. Thank you.

I have seen users in northern Washington state (using cable broadband) near the US border with Canada ask why they are getting search information and other data as if they lived in British Columbia - their IP address was assigned to them from a group of Canadian IP addresses. Turned out that their US service provider was paying a Canadian service provider for their connection to the internet (unbeknownst to the users until they asked their ISP about it)., It was a shorter distance to a connection point in BC than running a cable over hill and dale in the US from the nearest connection point for their ISP to their location.
