Why do I have two versions of Firefox in my Windows Control Panel?

Note: This article only applies to Windows.

Updating from Firefox 15.0 to 15.0.1 may not remove the Mozilla Firefox 15.0 entry from the Windows Control Panel list of installed programs. Even though both Mozilla Firefox 15.0 and 15.0.1 are listed, only ONE version of Firefox is installed (15.0.1). This is a bug that will be fixed in a future release so there is no need to do anything. Updating from Firefox 15 to a newer version of Firefox may not remove the Mozilla Firefox 15 entry from the Windows Control Panel list of installed programs. Even though both Mozilla Firefox 15 and the newer version are listed, only ONE version of Firefox is installed (the new one). This is a bug that will be fixed in a future release so there is no need to do anything.

If you already uninstalled Firefox by selecting one of the Mozilla Firefox entries in the list of installed programs, you will need to reinstall Firefox. See How to install Firefox on Windows for instructions.
