I want to get rid of any reference to yahoo on my Firefox preferences. I found out how to get rid of the toolbar version but then it appeared on the main menu where FILE, EDIT, VIEW etc sit. I looked it up on the web and your support site says to go to HELP > Troubleshooting information> reset Firefox. A search on HELP does not reveal a "troubleshooting information" option nor a "reset Firefox" option Please help! I will stop using Firefox if this does no get resolved.

HI thanks for your quick response - where is the address bar?

The address bar is where you type a website address (www.google.com, or something like that). Also called the URL bar.

Well - URL is how I know it ... when I re-set firefox everything was re-set to Yahoo - the toobars, the logo, the firefox menu - it came on more than it was there before - so that didn't work. However, my husband walked in the door and he managed to dig deep enough to get rid of everything yahoo.

I do not understand how it helps to have Yahoo be there when clearly the users would have a yahoo search engine if they wanted it. It is an invasion of privacy and user choice. I really like Firefox - but why the Yahoo??? Anyway thanks, my problem is solved for the time being.

The standard download of Firefox from mozilla.org is pre-wired with all things Google. However, if you downloaded the Yahoo bundle version from Yahoo, then you get Yahoo features. That could explain it.
