drag and drop attachments to email-message Thunderbird under OS X

Hi anyone here experiencing these problems and has a solution for it?

- under OS X (Yosemite) I can not drag pictures or other attachments to a new Thunderbird mail message like I use to do on a windows PC

- the "rescale" window that appears when pictures are attached to a mail message (to enable a user to downsize them before sending), is larger in size (vertically) than the max view area. This results in the lower part (buttons) being hidden behind the OS X Dock buttons
