Do I need to do anything to ensure that my iMac desktop can seamlessly access Thunderbird 91.9.0 following Google's 30 May deadline re third party apps? My Thunderbird security "accepts all cookies". My Google/Gmail account has "less secure apps" ON

If I sign up for Google's Two-Step verification will this have any bearing on the above or is it quite separate? Many thanks, Old and confused...

TB wont send outgoing emails to the gmail account

have spent 4-5 hours on this over last month

have tried- disabling Avast antivirus, disabling firewall, changing ports, erasing and reloading TB

I had to change my gmail pwd due to a possible security breach as reported to me by Experian.

After the change, Tbird flashed this error message upon the next startup (please see image)

After about 20 minutes of poking about, I found where I could change the password for my google account. I changed it to the new password. There is zero chance I got it wrong because I copy/pasted it from my pwd mgr. I still get this error message making T'bird useless to me.

I'm definitely let down that such as simple op as pwd change was so difficult to find and now seems impossible to do. I haven't a CLUE what the STAT command is or how to address this condition.

Any suggestions are greatly welcomed.

I have just re-installed the latest Thunderbird. Authentication Oauth2. I have given gmail my phone number to call for authentication. After the first test, gmail will not call my phone and will not log Thunderbird in. I cannot get in Thunderbird messages recently sent through the online browser into Thunderbird.

I upgraded to V90 because Gmail will not work with Thunderbird after May 30, 2022. Since upgrading, password manager does not work, (won't store passwords) and I have to manually sign in to all my Gmail and Hotmail accounts at every start up and every time I select "Get Messages" on menu. I tried restoring to previous version and reinstalled V90 but it does not fix.

I suspect this has something to do with our old mail-server and changing the minimum level for TLS to TLSv1.2

In version 91 there is no ≡ > Options > Find in Options to get to the Config Editor. How is that done now ?

I am running Windows 7 and have Thunderbird 91.10. Just went through your instructions to update to OAuth 2.0 (Well done BTW). When I try to get new documents I am immediately diverted to the log in page for my Google Account. Any suggestions on ways to avoid this? Thanks.

I erased my password on an gmail account in thunderbird, I changed it in gmail. when I start thunderbird it asks for the email account instead of just the new password. I fill in the email account and it sends error 400 back to me.

I'm using Thunderbird 115.7.0 (64 bits). Cannot send messages from my email account: katy.vandenhoek@gmail.com. It says it cannot make connection to server smtp.gmail.com. Receiving emails is OK. The other emailaccounts are working OK. Looks like there is something wrong with the authentification. Reïnstalling Thunderbird didn't help.

How to restore link from Juno pop mail to Thunderbird?. Changed password in Juno, then couldn't download messages to Tbird. Tbird help page said go to settings>security>passwords>[highlight affected account]>delete. Then close & reopen Tbird. You will be prompted to sign in. I receive properly most of my emails in Thunderbird but there is this one from "Wetransfer support" (support@wetransfer.zendesk.com ) I cannot. I receive it on the email service provider server, but not in the Thunderbird client. I just have a notification ("1" next to the main folder). When I send copies of it to myself from the server, it is the same issue. Strangely, when I copy paste the content in a new message, it passes through. Everything happens as if there was something inside the body of the message that Thunderbird did not like. Some little pictures inside are not copied in the copy/paste process, so maybe it is the cause. What's your opinion?

Hello, Thunderbird crashed and asked me to send a crash report. My question is not about the crash or bug itself, I rather care about my data. I accidentally clicked on Submit and later read that it contains "Sensitive Data" as in a raw dump of the state of my E-Mail client. As far as I've read people can have access to this over the web (via crash-stats.mozilla.org/ I pressume)

Question: Can I have my crash-report removed/withdrawn? I don't want to have the possibility of personal data, passwords, etc. on the internet.

I have in thunderbird 102.6.1 (64 bits) three e-mail accounts. Windows 11 version 22H2. All three accounts are using the same outgoing server: smtp.ziggo.nl port 465 SSL/TLS normal password, From two accounts I can send without problems e-mail to .gmail.com accounts. But when I send from address xxxxx@hccnet.nl to a .gmail.com address I get the message that authorisation failed. On my Android telephone I can send with my e-mail adress xxxx@hccnet.nl witout any problem an e-mail to a .gmail.com account. The same is true for using this mailaccount on my laptop, with an other mail programm.

All server types are IMAP with port 993. I tried to find differences in the adjustmens but cannot find any difference. I am looking forward to hear if someone els has this problem too and a solution.

Now I am not talking about junk or trash, I understand how that works. But some messages, mostly ones sent automatically from a contact form I have, the subject is prefixed with (Spam?) although they are not.

Is this a Thunderbird thing, could it be an AVG thing, or windows defender or what but is so annoying

When I click on an email and say reply, my reply is part of the original email.

If the recipient replies by clicking my reply-email, his reply will appear in the inbox in a thread along with the original email.

How can I avoid it so that all emails are listed as independent emails.

everything happens at once. phone and windows computer both died. I want to use IMAP to synchronize my gmail on my RHEL 9 machine, but can't connect with IMAP IMAP is enabled on my gmail, configuration found in Mozilla ISP database when I click done I get the yellow "JavaScript component does not have a method named:"verifyLogon" when calling method: [nsIMsgIncomingServer::verifyLogon] and below that [checking password with a dot moving back and forth. cannot proceed. I also have a lung issue and am on prednisone so my brain is mush. Don't know what all I've tried but it involved changing auth and clearing cookies and setting up with POP3 in the mean time. I'd rather not break anything else while I recover.. I didn't get a verification notice that I recognized in push, sms, or email. Please help. TIA Brian

I have Thunderbird set up with two email accounts. Until today I han problems with outgoing or incoming email and had saved passwords. All worked fine. Then I had to change my internet modem and somewhere along the line my incoming password for one of the two email accounts got deleted. No idea how. So I went into Settings and deleted all saved passwords. After that I sent a test email for both accounts and was able to re-save my passwords. But when I "Get Email" for either account, nothing happens. No email arrives (there are new emails on both accounts if I check via webmail). But I also am never prompted to save a password for incoming email (mail.comcast.net) for either account.

Why isn't Thunderbird prompting me to save the incoming password, and how can I manually enter a password? I'm baffled and at wit's end.

TB 102.5.0 (64-bit) on Win10 I'm getting repeated notices that my e-mail accounts with Network Solutions don't have a proper "certificate" when I try to send an email. I get a popup window stating so, and asking me to "permanently" choose the exception. It doesn't matter how many times I tell the fool thing to accept the exception "permanently". I still keep getting the notice every few times. Since the glitch is not consistent, I don't have an image of one to put here. Not only that, I have to send the email twice after doing so. TB refuses to send the email the first time after choosing the exception, but allows it the second. I don't know anything about "certificates" and am sick of getting popup notices about them. I doubt that the problem is with Network Solutions email accounts. This reminds me of years ago, when I tried to upgrade to WinXP. It kept interrupting my work to give me popup security notices that I didn't understand and couldn't do anything about. If I remember correctly, I took it back to Sam's Club and replaced it with Win2000. Problem solved. Never mind that XP was supposed to be better. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
