Thunderbird has worked flawlessly for my Outlook account as well as several IMAP accounts now for the last 2 days, it refuses to send. CY4PEPF0000EE36.mail.protection.outlook.com gave this error: Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable (S2017062302).

Refuses to send ONLY from Outlook.

I have been experiencing slowness in Thunderbird, specifically with the loading of messages. It does not seem to be associated with IMAP or POP accounts or whether the messages have already been downloaded to TBird. Single messages load relatively quickly. The problem is most evident when loading any message found in a thread. It can take 5-10 seconds to load an individual message and much longer when that message is in a thread. The longer the thread the longer it takes to load. Troubleshooting such as clearing the cache and turning off extensions have not resolved the issue either. What is odd is that if I use an extension to view the threads, such as Thunderbird Conversations, there is no lag. Any thoughts on how to correct this issue?

Thunderbird is often asking again to log into Gmail and Outlook accounts.

A few days ago the accounts I have were "disconnected" and a few days later, randomly some accounts ask me again to log in and allow access to email.

I have about 20 emails managed with Thunderbird and after a few versions (about 3-4 months) this problem started to happen.

Has anyone else reported something similar?

An observation is that I use MozBackup to make complete backups of emails (including login and password) and restore them after formatting the computer.

I just updated to 115.8.0. I have a much older mac without the upgrade and it is not having the same problem as my os 12.6.3 mac. Some of my inbound emails from are being taken over by a particular email from another sender so the message displays as the other sender, as does the from and reply to, but the subject retains the info from the original sender. Three or four emails in a row will all look like the other sender. The other sender was a public radio station. What's going on?

For example, the email displayed below is from one of my vendors, and has a simple message saying Thanks. The subjct line referencing a quote is correct. The rest is not.

Here's the error:

Error sending message. Error sending mail: Outgoing mail server (SMTP) error. The server responded: Cannot connect to SMTP server ip (ip), connect error 10060.

After update all SENT mail has disappeared and newly sent emails do not appear

A week or so ago I patched Thunderbird (115.8.0 (64-bit)). Everything seemed fine and I proceeded to empty the TRASH. It took an unusually long time to delete the roughly 175 messages in the TRASH. Then the screen "blinked" and when Thunderbird reappeared the SENT fold, while present, showed that it contained NO emails. I have sent about 50 emails since this occurred and the counter on the SENT folder continues to show the the folder contains no emails.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get things to work again?

After some moment thunderbird cant receive sended emails from server. Its downloading messages and after that, when im trying to open a blank message the new is arriving. I was trying to "repair" folder and also completely reintstall thunderbird - nothing changed. Could someone give an advise how to solve this?

After adding an online calendar (Remember the Milk task manager/todo list), Thunderbird locks up. Nothing works. I've uninstalled/reinstalled the app with no solution to the problem. Windows' Task Manager shows Thunderbird using an awful lot of CPU resources and the amount does not seem to decrease, even if I leave everything alone. I don't know if this is one of those Lightning bugs I've read about but, whatever it is, Thunderbird is useless to me now. Suggestions?

I switches between my Linux and Mac Notebook once a day. Everytime i switch a specific email gets moved to the junk folder. Then i mark it as not junk. As long as i stay in this client everything is fine. When i switch the notebook the client on this system marks this email as junk again. When i mark it as non junk and switch to the other system this email gets marked as junk again.

How can i mark it on both as non junk so this behaviour described above does not happen again?

For some time I have been using Thunderbird with three email accounts one of which is a Gmail account. This has generally worked OK. Every weeks or so a message came up… (Lesen Sie mehr)

For some time I have been using Thunderbird with three email accounts one of which is a Gmail account. This has generally worked OK. Every weeks or so a message came up asking me to allow Thunderbird to access my Google account to which I always said “Allow”. I call this message the “Google panel”. I am guessing this comes up whenever Thunderbird updates or whenever Google make some change. It is a bit irritating but I can live with it. Recently I have added in a second Gmail account, and since I have done this I have had a lot more problems. When the Google panel described above comes up I have to choose which of the two Gmail addresses it is asking me to allow access. There doesn’t seem to be any way of knowing which one has made the request so I choose one of the two listed at random, if I guess correctly then everything continues normally but if I guess incorrectly I get an error (404). The good news is that if I guess incorrectly the panel reappears within a few seconds and selecting the other account sorts everything out. The more serious problem is that from time to time emails from one of the two accounts just stop coming through. A dialog box with the message “The STAT command did not succeed. Error getting message number and sizes. Mail server pop.gmail.com responded: [AUTH] Invalid credentials” appears. This has happened to both of the accounts at different times for no obvious reason. After this happens it stays that way until the Google panel appears for the email address that has stopped working. This can take a couple of weeks. The only sure way that I've found to resolve this before the panel comes up is to clear the passwords for that account out of the password manager (Settings > Privacy and Security > Passwords > Saved Passwords). Then when I request Get Messages I am asked to allow Google to access the account, and once that has been done the account works again. This is obviously inconvenient and a fix that requires frequent implementation is not desirable. Even if I clear out all the passwords for both Gmail accounts and start fresh it is normally within a week that one of the accounts stops working as described above.

Some other facts about my setup:

   Cookies are enabled (Settings > Privacy & Security, Accept third-party cookies)
   I have it set up to store incoming emails from all accounts in a folder in Local Folders so I have a single inbox containing all incoming messages from all my accounts.
   I use POP not IMAP
   I leave the PC running overnight so Thunderbird is open continuously
   I have two other non-Gmail accounts as well as the two Gmail ones
   I have a Windows 11 PC and am currently using Thunderbird version 115.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can prevent these problems and have both accounts running reliably?

I use Thunderbird 115.8.0 (64-bit) on Windows to check 10 email accounts all on the same server. The setup in Tbird for all accounts is identical. I only have a problem with one account.

The problem is that on one account, after a small number of replies on a thread, the Send button becomes greyed out and emails will not save.

The other email accounts continue to work just fine.

Compacting mailboxes does not fix the issue.

i have an issue with my email, i have made no changes but from today, my thunderbird takes very long time to open. In bottom taskbar it says building summary file for the inbox.. and it takes about 5minute to load inbox list, "26000 letters." Also i can send but cannot receive any letters and i am missing last 3 months inbox mail.

How can i try to solve this issue without causing more damage or loss.

I don't know why this is happening or how to stop it. Today, for the second time in about 4 months, I opened Thunderbird to find that I'd been flooded with new copies of old emails. They were all marked unread, and I did a random sampling to see that all the ones I checked I already have a copy that has been marked as read, and for some of the older ones, has been archived. Today's influx consisted of 78 messages (it was about 150 messages the first time it happened) ranging in age from last week to June of 2022. I do not believe I have changed any account settings in the last 9 months, either within Thunderbird or at Gmail, where the account is hosted. In each case all the messages were confined to one specific folder--the first time it was the Inbox folder. This time it was a sub-folder named "Receipts". If I have someohow accidentally triggered this, I'd like to know what to change in order to prevent it from happening again.

I haven't opened my email-client Tunderbird since 13.07.2023. I've opened it today and due to automatic downloading with start, it downloaded nearyl 2200 emails.

But they don't appear in my inbox. I can't find them via search. Due to automatical deletion via smtp they're not in my email account anymore.

Can you please help fixing this issue?
