This is the message I get when trying to send emails: "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: pgbentley101@gmail.com recipient rejected. Please check the message recipient "pgbentley101@gmail.com" and try again."

Title. Thunderbird is a really cool client but it's pretty slow. I blame that on the thousands upon thousands of emails that my hotmail and gmail each hold. I don't necessarily want to delete these emails, but I have seldom a reason to have any email older than 2 months in my thunderbird client slowing and crashing the program whenever I want to combine inboxes.

To this end I went to "Synchronization & Storage" and told it to "Synchronize the most recent 2 months" but it didn't delete the huge cluster of older emails. The next option is to tell TB to delete these emails in the same menu but as I understand it that would also delete them in the server, which I don't want to do for posteriority.

What do I do?

My computer crashed and I'm now trying to launch Thunderbird. I have a successful install. Can I create a temporary profile so the app will run? HeLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLP Please.

If not, what can I do. Please answer with detailed answers rather than developer level answers. TKS

My triad.rr.com email does not allow me to send or reply to emails. Yet, I do receive them. My computer repair shop stated that the new format was flawed and Thunderbird had not fixed the problem. Can anyone help me to reply to emails? thanks

I want to ask you for an advice. I've made a filter on incoming e-mails with add-on FiltaQuilla. It download an attachment from e-mail. The problem is, when tunderbird is starting and filter run, the downloaded file size is 0 kb. Contrary, when filter run manually, the size of file is ok.

I've tried to reinstall thunderbird, but it didn't help. Can you help me with this please?

Unable to scroll down to bottom of window to create filter from a spam email. Cannot get to the OK button at bottom to complete the process. Have tried tapping the F11 button but no luck

All accounts are IMAP.

Secondary ones are okay. But my main one: Every time it is opened for getting new mail, it starts to re-read (or re-synchronize) everything existing. Like "Reading 5678 of 15728 in ZZZZ". Then another folder and so on. I am currently on a mobile connection - 5GB/month, and yesterday I got a 80% warning and two hours later "full". Nothing special had happened, only getting a few new mails: 1Gb spent on nothing.

Non-Tbird on my mobile used 300k for the same purpose during the month.

Tbird 115.7.0 (64bit) is running on Win10.

Is there a way to disable Thunderbird from decrypting PGP messages automatically?

I had asked on reddit and a user suggested to use the config editor and change temp.openpgp.autoDecrypt to false. After setting to False, nothing changed. It stays as False after restarting Thunderbird though.

What I'm wanting to do is to be able to see the PGP encrypted message and then click a button to decrypt it.

I'm using Thunderbird 115.7.0 (64-bit) on windows 10.

Several day ago my Thunderbird App stopped working. The message says it crashed and a message will be sent to Mozilla I haven't been able to get it to open up or function I have enclosed screen shot of the app when I tried to open it. Can anyone help me with this? Thank link textyou in advance.e

I am trying to add my work email account in Thunderbird, but for some reason the settings do not work in my case. It's really strange, because somebody else from my work is able to connect to their account with the same IMAP/SMTP server settings.

I am using a web2mail Email account and I already had a 2 hour long session with their support trying to find out what the problem is, but it seems that there is no issue on their end. The support there was able to use MS Office Outlook to connect to my account without any issues. And as mentioned before, my colleague is able to connect to her account using Thunderbird. And also, I was able to connect to my account using Spark with essentially the same server settings!

I really don't understand why Thunderbird cannot log in to MY account specifically. I tested it on two different computers with the same result. The error message is in the attached screenshot.

One more strange piece of information: If I change from IMAP to POP3 (with port 995), then it lets me add the account, but is not downloading any emails...

i am trying to sign-up for a Thunderbird email account. i am currently using AOL for a carrier. when i fill out the form, Thunderbird rejects my sign-up and says it is due to a wrong password. it is rejected by the server. does something have to be done either for or to AOL in order to continue the process? i paid the 21.40 because i really want the Thunderbird account. lol. please help. michael langlais ps. i am still able to receive emails at [edited] @verizon.net

Shortly after a recent microsoft update, Thunderbird stopped working entirely. No downloads from gmail, manually or automatically, I can't send emails either and I get an endless message that it's trying to copy the outgoing email to the Sent folder (I think), but it never actually does it, and the message never goes out.

I've gone through a bunch of the suggested fixes from various forums and checked the settings. The only one that was different from the recommended settings was hardware acceleration, which I turned off.

I'm at a loss. It won't even download manually when I hit the button for "Get Messages."

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have used Thunderbird for YEARS and have loved it. All of a sudden I have lost all of what was in my Local Folders. I had several years worth of emails regarding taxes, bookkeeping matters, etc. and they are gone. Aren't Local Folders located on my laptop? Or are they located on a Thunderbird server somewhere? Can they be retrieved? Does "Local Folders" mean something else now?
