Ich benutze Thunderbird schon seit Jahren, aber das letzte Update ist so Benutzerunfreundlich das ich den Wunsch habe ein anderes Programm zu nutzen!!!!!! Was nützen mir hundert verschiedene Möglichkeiten Menüleisten zu wählen, wenn das WICHTIGSTE – das Emailfeld zum lesen wird in der größe derart beschnitten wird das man nur noch hin und her scrollen muss???? Das Feld für "erhaltene mails" läßt sich nicht mehr weit genug reduzieren!! Auf diese Art wird dann ungefähr ein Drittel des Bildschirms mit unnötigen Menüleisten und einer nicht mehr einstellbaren mail Vorschau verschwendet!!! In meinen Augen kein Fortschritt, sondern eher ein Rückschritt!!!!!!!!!!! Macht was, oder ihr habt mich als nutzer verloren. Oder gibt es „versteckte" Einstellungen die diesen schwachsinn neutralisieren??

I've been using Thunderbird for years, but the latest update is so user-unfriendly that I have the desire to use another program!!!!!! What good are a hundred different ways to choose menu bars if the MOST IMPORTANT - the email field for reading is cut in size so that you only have to scroll back and forth???? The field for "received mails" can no longer be reduced far enough!!! In this way about a third of the screen is wasted with unnecessary menu bars and a no longer adjustable mail preview!!! In my eyes no progress, but rather a step backwards!!!!!!!!!!! Do something or you have lost me as a user. Or are there "hidden" settings that neutralize this bullshit???

What is going on with this new update. I don't have time to google for hours trying to fix Thunderbird. I am in the middle of repairing my fence because the dogs keep getting out and the fence was destroyed by hurricane Ian's eye a year ago. I am so tired of fixing everything. I have been using Thunderbird since 2006. Why do the updates keep getting more bizarre? Waterfox did a similar thing yesterday just not as big, and from what I could gather it has something to do with fricking Microsoft, the super bullies of the tech world and the way the screen size is programed in Windows 10, wish Windows 7 would come back. Windows 10 screen sizing has always been a royal pain. 100% is not big enough so I have it at 125% and various websites are always screwed up, this never happened in Windows 7 and now it looks like it will screw up Waterfox which I went back to 5G.1.13 instead of the new 6G until I have a couple of days to screw around and endlessly google to find the perfect answer and figure out if its about:config or some CSS file or whatever needs to be fixed. I don't understand why these errors are not fixed before the updates are released. Especially when the update destroys the program making it nonfunctional. Thunder bird is all distorted and I can't use it. I am screwed, I have packages coming, and a food truck from Oregon I have to meet and the delivery schedule keeps changing and texts are not coming through fricking Tmobile. I hate technology it is a royal time consuming pain in the ass. What ever happened to phone calls and not having to write a novel to communicate. I CANT EVEN CLOSE THE FRICKING Thunderbird SUPERNOVA FROM HELL PAGE FROM THE SCREEN PAGE. THE X is off the page. SEE THE SCREEN PRINT

The server cannot process the request because it is malformed. It should not be retried. That’s all we know. I believe all setting are correct and my password for the gmail account is the same as my google account spent many hours on this lol

I am a longtime Thunderbird user. I have 3 email accounts that I check via Thunderbird. I am having issues on just one of those accounts since the 115 Supernova update. I see the message "checking inbox for new messages" but they are not downloading. I have ATT email through Yahoo, and I can log into Yahoo Mail (webmail) and see the messages there ... they suddenly are just not downloading to Thunderbird.

I have tried:

compacting folders Thunderbird safe mode Windows safe mode with networking turning my antivirus off temporarily moving all emails in that account Inbox to a backup folder

I'm frustrated and need to download mail - can you please help me?! Thanks!

I seem to have lost every E-Mail that I filtered in my E-Mail account.

I used Thunderbird to filter E-Mails from two GMX-Accounts to locale Folders, they were just basic filters like: Move all Phone bills into an Folder, Move all Steam Payments into an Folder, etc.

A few days ago I changed my Windows-drive from BIOS to UEFI and subsequently lost everything that was on that drive. Yesterday I wanted to setup Thunderbird again but I noticed that all the E-Mails that I had filtered before were gone (from Thunderbird aswell as from the GMX Accounts)

The few backups I have stored on another drive don't have an Thunderbird folder in %APPDATA%, so I can't use a Backup of the Profile either.

So my Question is now: Is there anyway to restore them or am I right in the assumption that they are gone forever?

Since the Supernova update email folders don't show under the respective (unified) but instead under individual email accounts. Pre update they all showed under the respective dropdowns for inbox, sent, junk, deleted etc with user created sub folders showing in the respective email account.

How do I fix this & why didn't the update maintain previous setup?

I've used the profiles.ini file to find the default profile. Now a user has sent me a profile where my app picks the wrong profile "default-beta" instead of "default-release".

How can I identify the correct profile?

Hello, please, is there any way to have the contacts syncronized on multiple computers that I have thunderbird on so that all the PCs have the same contact database at all times? For example, I have a thundebird in my office where I have work contacts. I would like to have these contacts automatically in the laptop that I have in my home office, or on my personal PC, which I sometimes also use for work, and it is very annoying when my home office laptop does not know the contacts that I work with on the PC in the office. Is there a solution to have contacts sync automatically across PCs? For example, is it not possible to somehow log in to all thundebird accounts on different PCs, etc. and keep this database of contacts? Thank you and have a nice rest of the day.

Just got upgrade to new version 115.3.1 (64-bit) and instantly found a bug. I have multiple accounts so the cursor could be in one account but new messages could arrive in to different account. So then I click on that account the cursor is somewhere in the middle of all the previous read messages instead of on the bottom of the pane where new messages are. So now I have to scroll through the thousands of messages to reach unread messages. Does anyone test this kind of simple stuff before releasing the new version?

Sometimes I can drag and drop a file attachment into an open Thunderbird email but most of the time cannot. I am not sure why sometime I can but most of the time it won't allow (I have another web application that I use in Chrome that always allows me to drag and drop a file into a web browser window.

Any thoughts? I tried clearing the startup cache but that didn't help.

I use TB for work. I have (or had) folders where I keep archives of all work-related emails for all of my clients. I had one folder for each of my clients. After I read emails in my inbox, I move them to the relevant client folder to archive them. These folders have email archives going back for several years.

Just now I was reading emails in my inbox, then moving them to folders for archival, by dragging and dropping them into the relevant client folder. I had just finished reading an email and was about to drag/drop it into a folder for archival, and the folders were gone. There was a top-level folder called "Active Projects". There were sub-folders within the "Active Projects" folder - one for each client.

Not ALL folders have disappeared. Only the Active Projects folder has disappeared.

But,... I alt-clicked on an email in my inbox to get the pop-up window with a bunch of options for things to do with the email. I could select Move To -> Recent -> and the nested window that shows recent folders pops up, and it shows the client folders and I can (apparently) move emails to the client folders. But I can't see the folders.

Please help! This is years of work history. Any suggestions for how to get the Active Project folder and all of my client sub-folders to reappear?

There are no Email Filters set in Thunderbird.
