Sorry, posted recently and had then trouble finding out how to respond to help offered (jscher2000)! Noticed that the email version was "no-reply" so I didn't figure that would work! So, I tried to 'cut and paste' my reply (on a smartphone) and I ended up losing even the email reply text so here is a reconstruction. I tried the suggestions in order and the first one didn't have a "Restore previous session" option and the second one had "Recently closed windows" greyed out! And, when I entered "about.support" in the address bar (top rightish), I received a notice that I couldn't reach Google (Remember that I don't currently have internet access on my laptop). So, no joy there either! Can I not just change some current setting to prevent Firefox v 115.9lesr from saving the current 'Windows' and Tabs so that, when I again open Firefox, the previous session 'Windows' and Tabs would be used?!?

I tried redownloading Firefox after I saw that i was unable to download any extenstions/add-ons. Anytime i try to download something from the firefox browser, the download fails or gets cancelled. I never changed any settings, how can i fix this?

I have a program that continuously monitors the download folder under Windows 11 for a specific file and retrieves it. I download this file in Firefox, but the said program gives an error.

I have noticed that when files are downloaded in FireFox, they already appear in the Downloads folder with the corresponding file extension with 0 bytes and these are then apparently swapped or merged with the .parts file.

The problem is that the mentioned program now tries to retrieve the unfinished file, which then leads to an error.

Does anyone know if it is possible to customize Firefox so that the file only appears in the download folder when the download is fully complete?

I added my own shortcuts and deleted all the preset ones (Wikipedia, Twitter, Amazon etc). On deleting the last one of the default ones, the 'Add a shortcut' button has completely disappeared. Is there another way to create a shortcut?

OS: W11Ent_x64 V: 22h2 (b: 22621.3447) FF: 124.0.2 x_64 I tried several "Group Tabs" add-ons, like: Simple Tab Groups. Tab Group. And I few I can't even recall the name from. Yet, none works. Not ONE.

Now, I use Edge as well, on my corporate system that I got from work. Personal PC I use FF on.

But, the Edge Tab Grouping, which allows tabs to be "put to Eco-Sleep", while hidden the open tabs by clicking the Group-Tab Icon, is a feature I sorely miss in Firefox.

Odd, as, so many requested this feature, how come it has not been implemented over the many years of people asking?

Either way: Does anyone know a good, WORKING add-on that does the "Edge Thing" with FF tabs, please? Since, I often got like 200 tabs open, which is a real misery without Tab Grouping and "Hiding".

Video in Firefox does not run .. no error messages .. nothing. It works fine in other browsers. When I click on the video .. nothing happens. It used to work but not now and I don't think I've changed anything.

I would like the address bar to show what it would show when you type a "?" just by clicking. It's a default feature in chrome, I know, mentioning a competitive browser as an example is kind of a no no, but it's the only example I can think of.

In previous versions of FFx, toggling to Reader view used the same font I'd chosen in Settings / wherever. Now it's something else, in boldface with no distinctions made in original view (italics, not italics, etc). & there doesn't seem to be any way I can control fonts in Reader.

Any suggestions? In plain English, please, I am NOT a programmer or computer professional, just a regular human trying to use this new version that seems to have broken everything I liked about FFx.

I frequently attempt to open news articles or other pages requiring form fill-in but instead get a page that advises me to disable an adblocker. I have no idea what Firefox (yes, up-to-date) uses or how I could set it to allow pop-ups for a particular site. Help!

Hello! My name is Anya. I am desperately trying to manage my social media addiction and to help support that I am wondering if its possible to disable the privacy window. I know I can install a website blocker - which I have, but it does not apply to the private window so I have full access to social media on it, I just have to log in. I want to COMPLETELY block Facebook and Instagram off of my laptop. Is this possible? Thank you!

When I do right mouse click on page, depending on the mouse cursor position, context menu appears and I need to scroll up or down to access appropriate item. I thought I need to try and fix size and position of a page context menu. Is it possible? Can someone please answer how to reset firefox size after you've been using a bigger screen and go back to the laptop the top bar is lost way up and I cant catch it to move it to resize the firefox window. Using Fn and F11 to go into maximize mode doesnt help me at all cuz I end up in full screen on the FHD screen but cant grab and drag the window to resize it again - and please NO comments about using FN and F11 again. This is an issue thats been since years - cant figure out why ppl who are tryin to help think others dont know the difference between maximization and the window being bigger than the laptop screen and being lost. So FIREFOX key-shortcut for window size reset URGENT PLEASEEEE - Im having this issue couple times a week. To fix it I gotta go again to the bigger screen reduce the size of the window and then disconnect - which is soooo horrible.

Firefox 115.11.0esr from openSuse doesn't display a status bar at the bottom of the window. How can I restore this feature to display the actual URL of a "link" under the cursor, as in Thunderbird?

I use the Mozilla Thunderbird email program and have just been overwhelmed by the number of "bookmarks" appearing under the "Bookmarks Toolbar." I don't want these additional bookmarks that I did NOT select. Moving them one by one is tedious--and I think new bookmarks are added to the toolbar if I delete any. How do I stop this? Is there a way to eliminate the added bookmarks in mass rather than singly? Thanks,

I am using theme called WhiteSur to imitate Safari, as that is the browser layout I prefer. However, this doesn't change the position of the close tab button and leaves it on the right hand side. I found a way to change it, using the code .tabbrowser-tab .tab-close-button {

 margin-right: 2.5px !important;

} Unfortunately, this doesn't change based on the size of the tab, so if I set it to a size that is good for only having 1 tab, it will look bad or be off the screen for the other amounts of tabs. Is there a way to detect the width of the tab or the amount of tabs open and dynamically set the margins based off of this? So I could set it as (width-of-tab)-x and that would always keep the close tab button in the same spot, regardless of tab size. Thanks!

My elderly client has enabled a “my tasks” sidebar in Gmail. He does not know how to turn it off. I have searched for an answer and have been unable to find one. Ctrl+B is not helpful and doesn’t bring up a screen where it says sidebar. Please help! He keeps asking about it and I am a caregiver, not a computer technician…
