Hi, I am a photographer and use an asset management and editing program called Adobe Lightroom Classic. Another photographer and I have found that when Firefox is running at the same time as Lightroom, the whole computer slows to a stop. Lightroom runs okay alongside other browsers. Firefox runs well at the same time as other editing software including DxO PhotoLab 6 and ON1 Photo Raw

I run Windows 10 with AMD A10 processor, 32 GB RAM

Hello, I am in a dreadful situation.

I needed to format my PC, changing OS from Windows 10 to Windows 11. I have backed up my Mozilla profile just in case, along with other things.

Long story short - my backup failed. I thought that shouldn't be that much of a problem, as there's Firefox Sync. After getting the new OS, logging in to Firefox Accounts, syncing... nothing. It synced with the current state (so brand new browser) and didn't import anything. Bookmarks or history, which are very important to me. Currently, I have no way of retrieving them.

Is there a way to get Firefox Sync to Sync with what was saved some time ago? Literally anything before February 1st will work for me. I am very dependent on my browsers, Chrome synced perfectly fine, Firefox didn't.

I cannot find any relevant information on this topic, is there any chance of getting help here?

I use the built in PDF viewer to open PDF Files. It has the function to add text. However I oftentimes forget to save the PDF after adding text. In other Programs (such as Microsoft Word, Notepad etc.) it prevents the shutdown on Windows when I have unsaved changes by showing a window which apps prevent a shotdown. Is it possible to achieve the same when forgetting to save changes made to pdf's in firefox? Or is there even a way to autosave PDFs after changing them?

After downloading the latest update this morning in desperation, Firefox crashed on first character of the primary password again and again and again. This time, started new tab, tried to type L into the address line and Firefox crashed AGAIN. Eventually, I have found that if I open a new tab and input a character into the address bar, I get one of three results. a) I input L and an L appears. If that happens, I can go on to use Firefox. b) I input L and get a totally random character appear. Could be S, or £ or $ or something else. In which case, I can't use Firefox. c) Firefox crashes.

Whoa, that sounds really severe. When this happens, is the Mozilla Crash Reporter dialog coming up? If so, you can share your crash reports with Mozilla Support volunteers for feedback on what might be causing that. See: https://support.mozilla.org/kb/firefox-crashes-asking-support

Yes, this is the 6th attempt to start Firefox and keep it going beyond the first keystroke input. I keep restarting till it works. I do not do anything else except restart, then try to input a keystroke. I can copy and paste and all is well till I hit enter or some other keystroke. It sucks and the Firefox team must be getting mad at the crash reports. Taking out all the plugins didn't help, and neither did restart in safe mode. I just keep getting the same problem.

I've been making my own Firefox theme using the Firefox Color extension. I uploaded an image but I can't figure out how to show the image on the new tab screen. Setting the new tab page color to transparent only makes everything white. I know the image is uploaded correctly because I can see some of it in the toolbar and tab list. Is it possible to show the image on the new tab page?

I'm a writer who relies heavily on instant access to Dictionary by Merriam-Webster. I recently got a new laptop and the dictionary will not load. It eventually will load but in a truncated looking format that is not useful. It works fine if I use Microsoft Explorer. I have cleared my cache but it still will not load and I have no trouble with anything else. This is super inconvenient. Is there some setting for Dictionary I'm missing?

Pretty much the title. On the first launch after update, the firefox logo on my taskbar turns into a blank page icon (with the top right corner folded down) and then after I close the program there is no icon for it on my taskbar.

It only takes a few seconds to add it back to the taskbar, but it's been happening for a few months now, and with these frequent updates it's gotten pretty frustrating.

Quite some time ago, not sure exactly how long but at least 8 - 9 years I had an account for making "persona's" as they were called back then. Today they appear to be referred to as "Themes" to which I have made many. I can see my persona's still exist from a long time ago however, I do not know how to access that account, it requires me to enter an email address, not the account login. To my knowledge I've only ever used one email address and this is for the later account used for making themes, can you please advise how I can access my old account when they were referred to as person's ?

The account I use now for themes is done using my email address [edited from public] @gmail.com

I am not aware of any other email address I could possibly have used !!

Some text, and hyperlinks are yellow. Yellow text on a white background is impossible for me to read. Hyperlinks are normally blue. Can I change the text from yellow back to blue?

hi, i formatted my laptop, downloaded firefox, signed in and my old data didnt show up, i clicked sync but nothing changed. all my old passwords are lost and thee is no history before today.

Whenever any website asks to access my location, and I allow it, Firefox tells that website that I am in a faraway place that I last visited over a year ago. What's worse, this place happens to be a very niche medical facility, which is upsetting as I don't expect to be revealing my medical history just by allowing access to my location.

I am not using a VPN or proxy or anything of that sort. If I look up my IP address in GeoIP2 or iplocation.net, it shows the correct city that I am actually in. How can I force Firefox to update my location (or at least, get it to uncache this old location)?

I'm using Firefox 109.0.1 on Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS.

I urgently need the bookmarks from my old firefox account. I have the same email address but have forgotten the password to my old firefox account, I also don't have a recovery key.

Is there any way for me to recover those bookmarks without having them deleted by reseting the password??

When I attempt to login to different sites, I am unable to select my saved logins from the drop down box. When I click on the login username box, the login flashes and does not allow me to select my saved username and password. So far, I have tried restarting my computer and unchecking and checking the auto fill option in settings. Please help!!!

I can't get a email with the code for this new 11 windows pc. Driving me nuts. I was trying to see and look to see if they block some companies to send a email. Not sure y u need the code anyways. We all know windows lies and hates any company like this one. They give enough warnings to the b s. Please try a email me with a code to get around this trash from windows. I can't figure this out. Making me mad. I only use this browser for tons of years. This code thing was a bad idea.

I recently bought a new laptop and seem to have Firefox constantly crashing in both normal and troubleshoot mode on both a Windows 11 OS as well as Linux OS's (Pop_OS and Manjaro). In general it will crash every 30 minutes or so but sometimes it can happen rapidly in a row.

I'm not sure what the problem could be but it sounds like a hardware problem? However I don't seem to be experiencing crashes on Edge or Opera when I tried them but I haven't tested it for too long yet. Does anyone have any advice or insight about this?
