Opening PDFs automatically with Firefox and, without any changes I might make, saving them with the download function in Firefox, actually ruins the functionality and data entry function of that file. Specifically this happens with PDF files downloaded from the (not all that amusing) PDFs from the FINCEN, (US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network). I do not see why and how Firefox thinks it is allowed to change files that are simply downloaded and saved on Firefox.

In other words, it seems that Firefox strips away certain "permissions" and/or "functions" (like built-in lookup, menu or choice boxes). This means that the file so downloaded via Firefox can no longer be used to properly fill in data, or to look up and choose data items within the file. (I see many times that ANYTHING having to do with "permissions" tends to be an intractable and unsolvable problem for software makers & experts, so, if you do not know right away how to solve the problem, it will probably take you several years to figure this out.)

The PDF in question is created by a government agency. If you have ever dealt with a government agency, then you know that they act sort of like Adobe or Microsoft: "They don't respond, or they do respond & say they do not understand, and if they understand, they are either unwilling or unable to fix the problem."

If there is a switch or option within Firefox, which lets me tell Firefox "Save this file exactly like it is received, nothing added or removed!", that would be nice. I just have not found such an option yet, and it would be nice if it might get provided someday.

I will share my browser data, but I am sort of convinced that a detailed question like mine will not be addressed within that shared data.

I have checked my setttings to ensure everything to do with history is checked and all is showing as it should but when I start typing in the URL search bar, none of my previously visited websites appear. They are still in my history so i know they haven't been cleared but it is frustrating, as even after I manually type in the address, if I try to go back to that website later the same day it still doesn't appear.

as soon as i startup firefox it has a quick flash of white before the background image comes up. it happens on new profiles/troubleshooting mode.

i have tried disabling hardware acceleration and it doesnt seem to help.

no matter what website when i put on a video it fades between normal and black constantly i dont know if its my computer im not very good at tech it doesnt happen and never happened on google

the last update of firefox wiped out my amazon account on my pc. It completely cleared my calendar. Messed with my passwords on some of my accounts. Can someone tell me how to get these things back. I am not a computer wiz.

I'm unable to type in "Notes" for specific transactions on my Credit Union's web site. It used to work fine until several months ago. The entire Credit Union web site won't allow me to add info or type in a box provided by them for such purposes as it did. I have to use the Safari browser (which I hate using) to do so. HELP!!

Hello, I have Windows 7 and I use Firefox ESR as my browser. It has work correctly for years now, but since a couple of days it has problems with downloading the latest updates. It asks me download the update but as I go into the settings page, the download is stuck at 0 kB. I also get a message box that FF is not able to download the update and it sends me to a Mozilla Firefox ESR download page and when I want to download the ESR version, FF cannot open the page with the installation file. Also many other links on the Mozilla page do not open or do not open correctly. Also it doesn't open this support page, I am writing this messages through my phone. Also it doesn't open the website bol.com. So what can I do. I have already tried clearing the cache and cookies. It doesn't help. I hope you can help.

I recently enabled Firefox's built in VPN. Signed into my Mozilla account, and when I toggle the VPN ON, every site gives "Secure Connection Failed". If I toggle the VPN OFF, it all goes back to normal.

Never before problem with my Windows 11 Desktop frequently shows an incorrect location. Firefox shows my location as Parkdale, Victoria. Australia and not my correct Florida location. This is a recent Firefox issue. Location is correct in Edge and Chrome. Location is correct on my Iphone and Ipad. A new install of Firefox on a second Windows 11 PC also shows the incorrect Australia location. Changing proxy settings makes no difference. A clean install of Firefox made no difference. Changing browser made no difference. This is a recent problem and unique to Firefox. Thanks

When I try to open Firefox, I get a box saying it is open, and I must close it. I do so, and a new Firefox pops up. However when I try to close that, it won't do so.

I have switched from all color to just a highlighted silver color to all the pics and black and white for the youtube entries. how can I change back to all color in both. ijk

Not sure if it's a feature or a bug, but I noticed that if I 'save and close' a tab group containing an 'empty' tab, i.e. the about:newtab page, the tab does not get restored when the group is opened again. Before I was using tab groups, I often used these empty tabs as a crude method of separating bunches of tabs from each other. I have some large tab groups, open on the tab bar, that still contain these, as I have never closed them since they were created. (They're just collapsed.) I was planning on closing them sometime, after I'd next reviewed their contents, but now I'm not too keen on that! So, just wondering, is this empty tab deletion a bug or a feature? If the latter, what's the rationale?

Good morning, We are using ver. 150. We have noticed that the landing page for Microsoft 365 does not have the apps tab on the left side of the page. Microsoft has redirected the Office apps landing page to a Copilot centric web page. There is a small Apps tab on bottom left which does not display on Firefox. Anyone have an idea why ?. Thank you,

I cannot log in to Amazon.ca using Firefox. When I input my email address to Amazon, it says I look like a new customer so let's set up an account. I am not a new customer and my account on Amazon works fine if I sign in through the Chrome browser. I have tried refreshing Firefox and also tried using Troubleshoot Mode, but the problem with Firefox persists. Is there a fix? Firefox must be blocking some type of data that Amazon requires but even white-listing the website doesn't seem to work.

Youtube playback causes Firefox to freeze up. Just the tab that is playing, not the entire browser. I have reinstalled firefox, used recommended settings and I have no addons or extensions. Other browsers work fine and there is nothing wrong with my computer. It is only firefox. This has been happening for about a month now.
