On the 23. of Mai I first noticed that I am unable to download any files whatsoever. I tried downloading .exe files and also a .csv file. When I try to download one of these files it appears in the downloads window but immediately goes to the status "Failed". Any retry fails as well.

The same thing goes for extensions. I cannot download any extensions or plugins using my Firefox browser. Since I reinstalled Firefox I can now also not use Plex because Firefox can't install the required plugins.

I will attach screenshots of all the errors I get.

All of the above worked when I tried it on the Edge browser.

Firefox version: 126.0 Windows 11

Things I have tried to fix the issue:

• Use the network connection from my phone instead of my home network
• Disable firewall and windows defender
• Reinstall Firefox
• Refresh Firefox
• Downgrade to version 125.0.1 and 122.0
• Reset router to factory settings
• Flush dns
• Restart PC
• Manually delete profile folder
• Delete temp files
• Change download destination
• Disable "Block dangerous and deceptive content"
• Troubleshoot Mode

Is Firefox using some other temporary folder for downloads?

Any ideas on how to fix this issue would be appreciated.

I just lost several hundred tabs on Firefox mobile right after it updated itself. The most recent tabs show only ten of those tabs, which were all opened and closed today and aren't part of what I need to restore.

How do I get my tabs back? I've seen no 'restore previous session' option. My laptop only shows the few I have open now. What do I do to restore them?

Whenever I try to delete or edit single instances of a recurring event in Thunderbird, it looks like it is gone, but if I close and reopen Thunderbird, it reappears. This happened only recently. I am using Thunderbird 115.11.0 in Linux Ubuntu 24.04. Please advise.

If you experience horizontal lines appearing when scrolling after installing firefox possible fix is finding layers.acceleration.force-enabled and set to true after going to about:config in your address bar search for this and set it to true. My real question I ask myself is, why isn't this enabled by default when installing firefox? I swear I remember doing this last Win 11 install as well. My third time installing windows unfortunately, just had a nvme ssd drive fail on me. 😭😢 Ofc, it had to be my Gen 4, C: drive with my old User account on there as well. :// Lesson learned, always backup important data frequently as desired. :( Oh well, just lost all my saved games and few songs, no big deal I guess.

Firefox interferes with Shift+Control+Command+4 which should give me a drag icon to copy an area of a webpage. Sometimes it works and sometimes Firefox prevents me from selecting a part of the page to copy and instead opens up a new tab. I don't want a new tab, I want to make a copy of part of a page. How can I disable that "New tab" function so that I can make a copy of part of my screen? Sometimes I have to resort to doing Shift+Control+Command+3 and making a copy of the whole screen, then putting that in an email so I can make a copy of just the portion that I wanted from the page. I am considering switching to SAFARI as my default browser because this makes me so mad.

No idea what the cause is but I cannot download ANYTHING on my browser for some reason. Pictures, documents, executables, browser extensions. Tried downloading documents from email attachment.. fail Tried downloading VLC... fail Tried every default recommended solution, clean install, you name it. Mind you all of these files downloaded just fine perfectly via Microsoft Edge.

Noticed another abnormality. Changed the download folder to a custom one. Download failed and DELETED the folder for some reason.

I'm so annoyed by these notifications for utterly random websites / "news" that started after a recent update (see attached screenshot). I don't want these, bit also don't want to turn off notifications altogether. Thank you!

Hi I'm using speed dial 2 on Firefox desktop. On Firefox Android I have not this possibility to set custom dials/sites on Start page and new tabs. When I try to use the built-in function I see pages from history. It's a big must and huge update to integrate a facility like this.

Everytime I open Firefox a new window opens suggesting I add the AVG extention, when I do I get a notification that AVG does not support that extention for Firefox. Why is the nonsupported extention being recomened

I can't deactivate the dark theme (the Themes Menu is inactive!), while another user has a light theme and works perfectly.

In addition, the writing of new messages is in white text on a white background!

How can I solve this problem. thank you in advance for your help

I had implement service worker for install resources and activate service worker and fetch the resources at offline.

When online service worker worked and once serve the resources to the cache then it will be stooped automatically

but when offline service worker block the local host and can not cache resource from cache. I am using firefox

126 version on window 11 system

Any settings are required or help me what will do for offline working in firefox using service worker

Firefox uses about half a gig on my disk, that's: '~/.mozilla' and '~/.cache/mozilla' can that be reduced? Either some setting that limits disk use or even a manual deletion of ancient stuff?

Hey, I have been trying to figure out native Firefox solution for deleting firefox history after it's set number of days old. I did found solutions for older verions of firefox, and some addons, but nothing that's native or current.

I think having history is incredibly useful short term, lets say a week or some days, but I don't think I have ever had to dig trough my old history for something. Usually what you need is to find some page you closed recently or something. And while I would like to use deleting history after closing browser, it interferes with stuff that I'm logged in, reopening tabs after closing etc. And ofc, it actually deletes history which is useful short term.

This is both request for help and improvement. It would be nice to have option on "clear history when firefox closes" settings, to delete any selected data older than set number of days for instance. Or if there already isn't, something similar in about:config.

I usually download and install manually the custom install of Firefox on Windows.

Recently, a new version was automatically installed without my permission and destroyed all my customization. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I had to restore the older version from backup and I was going to stop updating.

But I see that the manual custom installation is still available for download.

I want to make sure that if I use it it will not wipe out my customization again.

Please confirm.
