After preparing an amended return, the resulting form 1040X has all zeros in column A, the totals after amended changes in column B and C, so you can't tell what I changed/amended.

I electronically filed our 1040 for 2010 last in April. Recently I received two additional Schedule K-1 forms. I opened the return, clicked on the file amended return. The first error was that the opening screen asked if I received a refund of X dollars. The return I filed last April resulted in a payment to the IRS of Y dollars. I "lied" and said I had received the refund, then continued to enter the two additional Schedule K-1 forms. When I finished the process, the resulting 1040X shows all zeros in the column A (original amounts), and the total figures (after the amendment) in Column B (net change) and also in column C (correct amount). Today when I reopened the return I only was given the choice of continuing to work on the original return. The amended 1040X has disappeared.
