Updated Firefox to version 70, report still shows versions 69 and older installed
We're running reports from our Software deployment tools and after pushing update 70 on Windows 7 machines, version 69.x of Firefox is still reporting as being installed. When we push an uninstall task for version 69.x, it removes all bookmarks and passwords for users on the PC. Windows 10 does not appear to have this same issue. We believe it may be because version 70 is forcing x64 install and we had x86 69.x installed previously.

Hi DCarney, a couple users reported that their Firefox 70 update installed into the 64-bit folder instead of the 32-bit folder, so both were present on the machine.

Hmm, is that a configuration in the uninstall tool?
You could have users check whether they can switch Firefox 70 from using a new profile to using an older one:
Profile Manager Page
Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it.
This page should list at least one profile and could list many. (Each profile has two folders and one or more buttons. Do not use any Remove buttons!)
The profile that Firefox is currently using will have this:
This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted.
Do you have another profile named default or default-longnumber or default-release listed on this page? If so, you can check whether it is the one you were using recently by clicking its Launch profile in new browser button.
If it isn't what you want, simply close that new window.
If it IS what you want, back on the about:profiles page, click the Set as default profile button for that profile so Firefox uses it automatically at the next startup.
By the way, I don't know whether anyone has filed a bug for the side-by-side installs. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/

Sorry, which option? If you mean specifying a particular profile, I don't know because profile names vary. Perhaps we should have a moderator move this question to the "Firefox for Enterprise" forum.
Im reviewing the options to set policies over GPO, but I am not familiar with setting Firefox policies. Is there a custom policy we could set that would set %userprofile% to a specific version first and then we could mass uninstall the old version it might be assigned to? Or perhaps a policy to save their bookmarks/passwords to a different folder temporarily? I understand this may be more of an enterprise question.
We don't have any policies that affect profiles specifically.
Are the bookmarks actually being lost? Or is Firefox just creating a new profile due to the Firefox install being in a different directory?
