A Task's Location and Category can be entered but not saved?

I have noticed that when creating a Task, the dialogue has fields for Category and Location. I can fill those with relevant information. But when I re-open the task, the Category is the default of 'blank' and the Location is empty.

It looks like the data is collected, but not saved. Is this expected? I had expected it to function similarly to Events.
