Firefox stops playing video and audio after it's open for a while

Firefox plays video and audio perfectly well when I start it up, but after it's open for a while it will suddenly stop working. Either videos fail to load, or they do load but pressing play does nothing. This applies to all video and audio across the board, with any type of player. Whenever this happens, quitting Firefox causes the application to hang and I have to force it to quit.

One way I've found to replicate this is to plug in or remove headphones from the computer while video or audio is playing, but it happens often enough even when I don't do this (about two or three times a day), and I can't figure out what's causing it. Quitting and restarting Firefox fixes it, so it's not a major issue, but it is starting to get really annoying.

Firefox and all my plugins are up-to-date, and clearing my cache, turning off hardware acceleration, refreshing or reinstalling Firefox all did nothing. I have the same issue in Safe Mode as well as with a completely new profile.
