since I've updated ff to v19 on my netbook (asus 1215B) ff crashes after few seconds from start or even after some minutes. The problem persists also in ff safe mode. I've tried to make a clean reinstall but it's still the same...

Flash and java are updated to the leates version. I use windows 8 x64

Instead, on my desktop (win7 x64), ff (with the same setting and extensions) works

PS: i've noticed right now that the problem seems to occour only when using Gmail ! (my home page is igoogle infact)

We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox location bar (that's where you enter your website names) and press Enter. You should now see a list of submitted crash reports.
  2. Copy the most recent 5 report IDs that you see in the crash report window and paste them into your forum response.

Thanks in advance for your help!

More information and further troubleshooting steps can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) article.

If you disable Hardware Acceleration does it help? Turning off hardware acceleration

more options

no: i've just tried right now.

i fear it may be something related to the hardware components. beacuse i got some BSOD in the last days: despite i've used the system restore and make a clean reinstall of video driver

That is a problem on Windows 8 with Firefox 19 and some AMD graphic display cards.

This issue in currently being investigated

  • bug 830531 - [Win8] crash in XPC_WN_Helper_NewResolve mainly with AMD Radeon HD 6290/6310/6320/7290/7310/7340

If you have one of those display cards then best is to stay with or downgrade to Firefox 18.0.2 for now.

Yes: i've a AMD Radeon HD 6310 Graphics Damed! I guessed it may be fault of the graphic card! (however reinstall AMD drivers doesn't fix the problem: i tried some days ago)

thankyou all for the help!

Firefox 19.0 keeps failing with Lenovo Radeon HD 3320 adapter with Windows 8 64 bit. So I tried Firefox Auroa (ver 21.0 and it works fine. It's in Beta but better than down grading to an older version and seems very fast. So far no issues.

I have this problem too.

I don't have a AMD card so that's not my problem.

I've tried loads of stuff but nothing works so far

  • I've tried to install version 18 and 19, neither worked
  • When uninstalling I've removed all my settings as well as the mozilla-directory Program Files (x86)
  • I've uninstalled the flash plugin and I've tried to add Protected Mode = o

None of these work. I don't even get prompted for safe mode. I am able to enter with the command line option -safe-mode and while in safe mode I've de activated all plugins (I don't have a lot, like 5-10) and restarted, still doesn't work.

Any help?

Here is what I did replace your video driver for the AMD radeon driver I am sure it is the problem;

Have you tried the new Aurora pre-beta?

http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/aurora/

It worked from day one and seems some what faster to. I also went straight to AMD for the driver.

http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonaiw_vista64.aspx.

First unload catalist radeon video driver (Mine is AMD Radeon 6320 HD on Windows 8 64 bit) and let the machine default to vga, reboot. Verify Firefox is working ok. Use version driver 9 (web site above) load it. then reboot after reboot go in to control panel and try to unnstall it will ask you to repair and follow that. It appears when you delete and reload the new driver it does not get everything, After that I have had no issues even using the older firefox Gmail etc.. but franlkly I'm an aurora fan now.
