With the moving of Cox emails to Yahoo would it be feasible for Thunderbird to put an instruction list(with screenshots) of how to get all our TB email accounts from Cox to TB? Do we have to delete all our TB email accounts and re-enter them into TB under the new Yahoo or can we just change the server settings on the existing Cox settings? If just changing server settings what are the settings for the new yahoo? All my accounts are IMAP so if instructions could be made, maybe one for IMAP and one for POP for those who use either. Thank you

I may be missing something, but how can I remove threading completely from Thunderbird or how can I download an older version. I"ve searched for 102.15, but cannot find a way to download it. I really prefer NOT to use another email client. I've always used Thunderbird, but I cannot tolerate this threading thing and I can't seem to disable it.

Hi.,

Cox cable just discontinued their email server and moved all it's email accounts to Yahoo.

I had been using Thunderbird successfully with Cox for several months before this happened.

I am able to send and receive emails now via my new online Yahoo server; however I have not

been able to connect / use Thunderbird to send and receive emails since the Yahoo changeover. I have tried many things, but I either get a "failed" error message or a "timed out" error message. Yahoo support has not been able to figure this one out. They are hard to get a hold of and hard to understand (communicate with). They are overseas from the US.

I appreciate any help you can offer.

Kind regards, Ken

I recently (on the 28th Nov '23) updated TB to the latest version. It was so awful though that I uninstalled it and reinstalled version 60.9.1. However, now my address book is empty. I did have an old csv file which I was able to import, but it's quite old and missing a lot of addresses added more recently. Where did the saved email addresses go? Are they likely to still be out there somewhere? Thanks, Ian

Hello. I was searching my Inbox for e-mails I knew I had, but they weren't showing up! After doing a general search, I found the e-mails in the search results. Then, I clicked "open in conversation" and they were all there and labeled with "Inbox" or "Sent" folder, respectively. So I right-clicked and selected, "open in containing folder", but it didn't work! The "containing folder" opened [i.e., the Inbox], but didn't show the e-mail! So then I searched manually by scrolling in the Inbox to the date of the "hidden" e-mail -- yet it wasn't there!

(In other words, when I did "open in conversation" from the search results, it showed the conversation, but I can't actually see the e-mails in their containing folder!) Besides for this problem, but I think there are a lot of other e-mails that are "hiding" in this way as well. What should I do?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Sincerely, Jonathan Rosenberg

Hello, Experts:

First up, I'm a happy user of Thunderbird with some years of experience. I make use of filters, and up until about 2 weeks ago they all worked. Now two of my filters (not all) have stopped working automatically, and I have to go to Tools/Message Filters and run them manually.

I'm on TB 102.15.1.

I have deleted the non-working filters and re-created them. No change in behavior.

I would NOT like to de-install/re-install TB because it's a good deal of work, and TB is a critical system for me.

That said, I keep a laptop computer for travel, and the filters work on that platform. IS THERE A WAY to copy a file or folder over from the working laptop onto my desktop machine, where the filters have failed?

Thanks in advance, Bob

Recently all cox.net emails transferred to yahoo mail but kept the cox.net address. I prefer the Thunderbird format for emails, more options. How can I add them to Thunderbird? I already have them in Thunderbird with the cox.net address but no new emails are coming in on the ones that have already transferred to yahoo mail. (They didn't all go at the same time so I am still getting emails on the ones that didn't transfer yet.) Thanks.
