I have just upgraded the OS on Mac Mini with the M1 chip to Sonoma (14.5) I am running Firefox 126.0.

Now it seems that I have more than one problem since the upgrade. The browsing history in my sidebar is not current. It is running about a day behind.

I reported earlier that the type on my LinkedIn is only out 7 pt when my settings have the minimum size at 14 pt.

Somebody please help. I'm afraid to do a refresh because I don't know what it will do to my banking settings.

The last line gives the time in GMT timezone, the second line shows you are in GMO -4 hours and that is confirmed as the UTC time is four hours later. If all those are the correct time then I don't know why the recorded history would be different. "Resist Fingerprinting" places you in the GMT timezone.

It sounds like you're encountering a couple of issues after upgrading your Mac Mini to Sonoma OS (14.5). Let's address each one:

   Browsing History Delay: The delay in your browsing history appearing in the sidebar of Firefox could be due to various reasons. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this:
       Clear Cache and Cookies: Clearing your browser's cache and cookies can sometimes resolve issues with outdated browsing history. You can do this by going to Firefox Preferences > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data > Clear Data.
       Restart Firefox: Sometimes, simply restarting Firefox can help refresh its data and resolve minor issues.
       Check for Firefox Updates: Make sure you have the latest version of Firefox installed. Updating to the latest version might include bug fixes or improvements that could address the browsing history delay.
       Check System Date and Time: Ensure that the date and time settings on your Mac Mini are accurate. An incorrect system date and time could potentially cause issues with browsing history synchronization.
   LinkedIn Font Size Issue: The font size discrepancy on LinkedIn could be related to browser settings or website compatibility. Here's what you can try:
       Zoom Settings: Check the zoom settings in Firefox to ensure they are set to 100% or your preferred zoom level. Sometimes, zooming in or out can affect the appearance of text on websites.
       Reset Zoom: If you've zoomed in or out on the LinkedIn website, try resetting the zoom level to see if it resolves the font size issue.
       Check LinkedIn Settings: Double-check your font size settings within LinkedIn itself. Sometimes, websites offer their own font customization options that may override browser settings.
       Browser Refresh: If the issue persists, consider refreshing Firefox. This will reset Firefox to its default settings but should not affect your banking settings. However, it's always a good idea to backup important data before performing any major changes.

Before proceeding with any major changes like refreshing Firefox, it's a good idea to backup your important data and settings

I assume that you have verified that the date and time and timezone are correct?

You can see the current time and time zone if you paste this code in the command line of the Web Console (Web Developer -> Web Console; Ctrl+Shift+K).

Paste each of these, one at the time, in the command line, you should see the result immediately without the need to press Enter.

  • (new Date());
  • (new Date()).toString();
  • (new Date()).toLocaleString();
  • (new Date()).toISOString();

cor-el, I'm sorry, I followed your link to that page but I can't tell where on that very busy page with lots of type the web console is. Here's what the page looks like on my computer. where do I enter what?

Sorry, I don't code and I don't mean to sound like an idiot.

cor-el, when I followed Tools> Browser Tools> Web Developer tools, I got the attached screenshot. I can't figure out where the command line is to put in the Date info.

And why do I have all these " the page's settings blocked..." messages?

cor-el, I finally figured out how to find the command line, and the date seemed correct on he first three, but I have no idea what it is saying on the fourth line. Attached is the screenshot.

I looked at the fingerprint command and the top one is false but there are some other ones under it that say true. Do I have to redo them all to true?

Please help.

For some reason, ater i did all this, the History Sidebar cauht up and is now up to date. Why, I haven't a clue. But I suspect it must have something to do with investigating whether I had resist fingerprinting set to true or false. It was false. But there are many more detailed "resist fingerprinting if blahblahblah..." and a couple of those are true.
