When I open a new, blank tab, one of the quick links displays one URL, but navigates to another. In particular, the quick link is supposed to navigate to the home page for NHLdotCOM - instead, if I click that quick link, it will take me to one particular subpage on within that site - a game recap from a game that was completed weeks ago.

From there I can easily navigate manually to the home page, but I'd love to edit the quicklink and bypass the misdirection (hopefully without installing an add-on).

Firefox 50.0.2, Windows 7, only current add-on is Adblock Plus

Thanks in advance

Are you talking about the about:newtabs page?

I don't think this can be edited. Instead, create a bookmark and place it in the Bookmarks Toolbar.

I'm talking about the thumbnail links/images of my most visited sites that appear when I open a new, blank tab. This one in particular doesn't navigate to the proper page.

Thank you for the response, but I'm looking for a way to prevent/correct the problem - not work around it. Adding a bookmark (and enabling another toolbar - I hate toolbars, btw) isn't what I'm looking for.

What is the link you are trying to get to, and what is the link you end on?

None of these worked.

Thanks for trying, but I think I'm stuck living with it for now... over xmas break I hoping to backup everything and do a full system wipe & rebuild - it's an old laptop that could use a good tuneup because of a mounting slew of small idiosyncrasies like this.

Have you tried going to the main page from where you end up?

Remove History For One Site Open the History Manager <Control><Shift> H. In the search bar, enter the name of the site. Right click on one of the listings and select Forget About This Site. This should remove all information, including any passwords / settings.

Yes, it's easy to manually navigate to the home page - it's just the quick link that I'd like to edit.

If a shortcut no longer works, remove it and make a new one.
