Comcast/Xfinity is binning email sent from Thunderbird to yahoo, gmail or hotmail

This problem started on April 24.

I have compared the Mozilla info at the front of emails sent to my wife before and after April 24. The only differences other than Subject and content are:

- The Message-IDs are identified as @acm.org - My sending address with Thunderbird is @acm.org - My ISP for Thunderbird is @comcast.net - If I send from xfinity.com which is comcast, the emails succeed - If I send from Thunderbird, the emails fail as follows

Emails to yahoo get:

Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 554 5.7.9 Message not accepted for policy reasons. See https://senders.yahooinc.com/error-codes

Emails to gmail get:

Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 550-5.7.26 Unauthenticated email from acm.org is not accepted due to domain's

Emails to hotmail get:

Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 550 5.7.509 Access denied, sending domain [ACM.ORG] does not pass DMARC verification and has a DMARC policy of reject. Bug forever (years, versions, reinstallations).

Failure by filters whose action is to DELETE. As stated in subject. Uncomplicated.

Other filters work (they distribute msgs into specified folders).

Normally when you starting to write a new email, Thunderbird will set the 'from' address to the address of the account whose mailbox you're current browsing.

However, I have a saved search that entirely contains email from my secondary (work) account, but if I start a new email while browsing it, it picks my default (home) email address. This has caused me to accidentally send emails from the wrong address more than once!

Is there any way to change it so that it'll set the 'from' field of new emails to my work email when browsing that specific saved search?

Hello and thank you for your help, I am trying to find my old Mozilla Thunderbird, e-mail account my older computer does not work, anymore, I have not used my Thunderbird, e-mail account in over five years, because I am on a newer computer. And could not access my information on the older computer that does not work. I could really use all my information and EMAIL account for Thunderbird, because I have many years of information on all those emails, I can’t find my password, 0r email address for Thunderbird emails, because I have not used my Thunderbird account in over 5 years. My old computer does not work and Thunderbird Email is a great program. How could I get my old emails back? And working. If you could please give me more or less a time, and date, to wait for your response, so I can wait for someone to help me, and not lose that opportunity. It would be much appreciated, so I don’t miss contact with someone that can help me with this matter. I am in the East coast. And thank you for any concern in this matter please help.

I've been having trouble trying to copy text to the clipboard (in all programs, not just TB) and fiddling around yesterday while trying to copy a paragraph from a TB message to insert it into a Word document, I've unintentionally b* up TB's inbox display. Previously it showed message headers on the left and senders on the right, in bold if as yet unread, and all close set (no spaces between lines). Now however it shows them in table form, with sender and header on the left end of each cell and the date at the right end. What do I have to do to restore the original display mode?

I have a Gmail account and Talktalk account, both on TB, and sometimes as a reminder to myself I send an email from Talktalk to Gmail. However these emails do not appear in my Gmail inbox but instead go to All Mail, Important and Unwanted folders. How do I stop this.

when opening Thunderbird it may show on the bottom left of the page that there are a number of messages to download. It will show how many messages are supposedly being downloaded yet no messages are actually downloaded?

My Thunderbird v. 115.10.1 (32-bit) Been using TB forever w/ GMail accounts Primary E-Mail is missing folders and has duplicate folders, one [Gmail] is inside the Inbox another is outside. Has [Sent] Doesn't appear to contain anything in either Junk and Trash folders. But, they do when I open GMail in my browser. My secondary E-Mail has no [Gmail] folder but does have Sent Mail, All Mail, Junk, Spam, Trash (empty), Trash and 3 that I created. This E-mail seems to function more completely. Is there a "repair install" a file to edit or something else to get me back to 100% operational? Can send folder properties if helpful. Image attached.

There is no option for message headers under View. How can I see email message headers in Thunderbird?

I Googled how to do this but they all say there is an option in the main menu under View. Maybe at some point there was, but not now. So how can I see the email headers?

In the column "Date" field, and in the Inbox folder only, only a time is displayed, but no date. Widening the column has no effect. Date and time are displayed in other folders.

Everything is gone? All my organized folders, everything. It prompts me to set up everything again. It then gives more prompts I don't understand. What should I do? This is a disaster

When I delete an email, it usually goes to the trash, so I can find it again. Now the emails are deleted permanently and disappear. How can I keep my emails in the trash? Sincerely Helle

Hello everyone!

I'm experiencing an issue with PDF attachments. Every on and then when I double-click on a PDF file attached to an email nothing happens. No action whatsoever. Thunderbird does not ask me if I want to open the file or save it. When I right-click on it and save the file on my computer the saved file size is 0 KB. I tried to access my emails using the browser and it works perfect. I can both open the file or save it on my computer and it saves with a proper size and then I can open it in Acrobat. Has anyone experienced a similar issue? I use Thunderbird SUPERNOVA 115.10.1 Windows 10 pro 10.0.19045

I am running Thunderbird on WIndows 10. I have eight different email accounts, but only one profile.

This morning on startup, all accounts and folders were gone and the "open your account" tab was open.

After several hours of frantic searching on the net, I took the most recent profile "prefs-9" and used it to overwrite "prefs.js" This brought back all my local folders and saved emails.

However, the email accounts used to be Wotsit@gmail followed by Inbox, Sent, Draft etc. Now the first account name has been moved, leaving behind its old Inbox, Sent etc with the correct email count but nothing at all in the right hand pane. The account header has re-appeared amongst other account headers but with nothing in the Inbox, Sent etc.

What I need to do is make all the emails visible in the "headerless" section, and return the correct header above them.

Here is what it sort of looks like -

Inbox (3) 2100 Sent 998 Drafts

Then further down after other accounts - Wotsit@gmail.com Inbox Sent Drafts

How can I move the Wotsit header back to where it should be?

I really appreciate the help you folks offer, and the time you put in helping us mere mortals!

I am having older Thunderbird 102.13.1 and when i input into a search field for example: 37.19.223. or "37.19.223." or "37\.19\.223\." it always stupidly and uselessly output tons of messages that contains unrelated IPs:

([76.223.177. [10.223.144.96]

highlighting number 223 as if i have searched just for this number 223

I think that it is reasonable to expect from TB to output only search results where email contains 37.19.223. without any hack, escaping or regex or whatever (if you know a workaround, please kindly share it).

Maybe newer TB works better? Anyone tried? If it works same way, can you please kindly ask developers to fix this?

This AM I was able to check / get e-mail five (5) or more times. Then clicking 'Get Mail' displays; connecting to mail.duo-county.com After 15-20 seconds connection to server mail.duo-county.com; Timed Out

I know of NO changes to any setting. When our e-mail was set up, we were told to set we were told to use Pop-3. Our ISP, who does NOT use NOR 'know' TB said we should be using IMAP, could NOT help review nor doing anything without risking ALL folders - files-data!

PLEASE help ASAP. Since we can't get - check mail I'm LOST! My spouse's e-mail is wpj@duo-county.com

Hi 😊 I’m trying to resolve my sisters’ issue with Thunderbird, and I know nothing about Thunderbird. When I open Thunderbird, I have an issue in that the Archive folder is there but no content is shown

Yet if I go to where the files are they seem to be there. They were working but I accidentally deleted the folder and out of the trash folder as well. If I go into “C:\Users\Sue\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Archives.sbd” where the emails and folders are, they seem to be there but not showing in Thunderbird when I click on any folder in Archive and are appear top be very small, i.e. empty.

I have screen shots if you require but thought not appropriate at this stage.

Hi there, My preview panel is working very badly, it either shows the content of the email or is completely white. What can I do to remedy it? - In some cases the emails appear in very strange codes, thousands of lines like this (iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAAPAAAABGCAYAAADyxhn6AAAAAXNSR0IArs4c6QAAAARnQU1BAACx jwv8YQUAAAAJcEhZcwAA) - in other cases, totally blank - in other cases it's everything ok It's working fine, receiving and sending all emails.
